Guest guest
Stress Relief L A U R A R. Z O H M A N Stress has become a popular concept in our daily life. Yes, we find this culprit stress on the job, at home, in relationships and in our environment. We each have unique and individual stress patterns. Certain types of experiences may be upsetting to one person, but may be a positive challenge or an opportunity for another. Distress can affect us in different ways. For some, stressful reactions show up as physical symptoms. These physical effects could manifest as headaches, backaches, chest pain and flutters, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, high blood pressure, skin disorders, gastrointestinal distress, weight disturbances and so forth. For others, stress can create emotional symptoms such as anger, depression, jealousy, fear, worry, guilt and other upsetting reactions. Being in the Advil generation is not the answer. Identifying stress patterns, altering our attitudes and promoting healthier lifestyles will help to relieve our stress. We can discover our own particular brand of distress, using hypnotherapy, visualization and behavior modification. Techniques can be learned to alleviate the emotional, mental and physical reactions in our body, mind and spirit. Although, we may not be able to change or eliminate all the stresses of daily life, how we respond to those stresses, (both real and imagined) can be positively transformed. 10 Practical Stress Reducers 1.
