Fibromyalgia & CranioSacral Therapy

Hi All! I'm pretty new to this club, so first let me introduct

myself, I am Sharon, and I have fibromyalgia, herniated disks, and

diabetes, to name a few (of my ailments), and I found this club

mostly by accident, (although I really believe in divine

intervention), and was really impressed with what I read in the short

time I was here.

 

Now I am asking for any help and/or advice you all can muster. My

sister received a holiday gift from her brother-in-law and his wife,

it is a cranio sacral therapy device (it looks like what you might

put into a shiatsu massager to replace the heads), I've gone to a

couple of websites to check out what this therapy is and what it

might do for my fibro and back problems, but most of them are filled

with ways to order different paraphanelia pertaining to this

particular therapy. Sooo, after all that, whew! does anyone here

know anything about this therapy and how it might help me deal with

my pain. I'm so sick and tired of popping pills that don't even

touch the level of pain I'm constantly exxperiencing. That's what

drew me to this site, the fact that all kinds of alternative

therapies are discussed here, and I'm glad I found you!

Hi Sharon,

 

I'm no expert in craniosacral therapy, but I can tell you the

techniques I learned involve only myself (my hands) and the recipient

on a table. Perhaps when I further my training I'll see some of these

devices.

 

In any case, cranio-sacral therapy is concerned with the pulse of the

cerebral spinal fluid in our brain and spinal cord (affecting the

entire body) and (at least in my limited experience) utilizes very

light pressure...no more than 5grams-which is approximately the

weight of a nickel. Although the technique is very subtle, don't let

that fool you...I've seen and heard of great results using it.

 

I'm sorry I can't be more help as far as knowing how to use this

tool, but hopefully someone else in the group more knowledgeable

about it will reply. If not, let me know I'll see what I can come up

with. In the meantime, if you know of a good massage therapist or

physical therapist familiar with the technique, I would encourage you

to seek them out.

i am from mumbai, india. our ancient traditions came in handy tome during my reiki practice. in my experience this is due to some harmful spirits trying to spoil your health. so many people do not believe in past births and so they may pooh-pooh the same. but great reiki masters have acknowledged.

Let me introduce myself to you, also. I am Frank Monachino and I am
