Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have had dry yeyes for a few years and about a year ago I found that they had gotten too unbearable so I started going to a naturopath. She put me on chinese herbs, blood type diet, flaxseed oil and I drink 2-3 litres of water a day. After a year they have half improved - which is alot compared to what they were like. Its just that anytime i go into airconditioning it makes them worse and really frustrates me. I was wondering if anyone who has had dry eyes knows of anything that can help. I was told by an eye specialist that dry eyes is basically incurable, but I have made alot of progress with my naturopath. I find it interesting that an eye specialist couldn't help me(in fact they got worse) but a naturopath could. But if anyone has any advice that could help even further I'd be very grateful as it can sometimes be very frustrating, especially with airconditioning - which I can't avoid. Guest guest
while you are on naturopathic treatment, you can ask an opthalmologist to prescribe you some artificial tears, and use the same to avoid discomfort.

Thanks for responding. I forgot to mention that I use eye drops. I have actually tried six different brands. I have finally setlled on two brands, but in airconditioning it doesn't seem to be enough. I do appreciate your response though. Thanks. Chantelle
Guest guest
I know it's not exactly an " natural " answer, but I had my punctas plugged. The plugs are made of some kind of plastic I belive. When I was pregnant with my second child, my eyes were so dry, so the eye dr plugged my two lower punctas (the drains that let the moisture out). She said if that wasn't enough, she could try plugging the upper punctas too. She said they plugs would fall out probably within a year or two, but they haven't, they're still there after 4 years. My eyes are still dry, and I use artificial tears once a day, but I do believe the plugs have helped. -Hilary , " chantelle_monaghan " <chonyvic@a...> wrote: > , " Dinesh " <dinesh5015> > wrote: > > while you are on naturopathic treatment, you can ask an > > opthalmologist to prescribe you some artificial tears, and use the > > same to avoid discomfort. > > Thanks for responding. You only use artificial tears once a day? thats excellent, I use more than I can count in one day, I use about 5 big tubes (lacrilube and viscotears gel.) in a week. Before I was seeing the naturopath I was using heaps more. > > , " chantelle_monaghan " > <chonyvic@a...> wrote: > > , " Dinesh " > <dinesh5015> > > wrote: > > > while you are on naturopathic treatment, you can ask an > > > opthalmologist to prescribe you some artificial tears, and use > the > > > same to avoid discomfort. > > > > Thanks for responding.
