Irritability can be caused by many things and it is often a

manifestation of something else. It could be stress, internal

frustration, hormonal, medications, or even other health issues -

there could be several causes. Looking at when you do it most and

what your personal triggers are can help you better identify it

before making any major decisions. Often irritability is only a

symptom of something else - if the 'something else' is not

identified then helping the irritability may just cause

other 'symptoms' to replace it.

With that being said - I would suggest some stress relief first and

fore most - perhaps in the way of breathing techniques, meditation,

and ensuring you are giving yourself at least ten minutes of down

time at every 90 to 120 of your waking day. This basically be

anything that is different from what you are involved in at that

moment. When we focus on one thing for too long we get burn out.

If we don't break our day up so that we are resting a particular

part of our mind (the one we are using for whatever it is that is

the main portion of our day) gets overwhelmed. If we continue this

pattern day after day - we become stressed and irritable. If we

rest our minds with breaks intermittently amazingly enough we get

more accomplished and feel a lot better doing it. Some suggestions -

read a book, listen to some relaxing music, take a walk and

EXERCISE (keeping our mind away from our tasks). There are even

machine out there now specifically designed for companies who have

adopted this policy of intermittent rest because they have seen the

benefit. It is a little pocket meditation sound wave machine (I

have not used it but seen them advertised and have a friend that

said she found it very beneficial - however I do not know the name

off the top of my head).

Exercise, any exercise - can be a wonderful way to relieve stress.

That along with some of the previous suggestions such as breathing

and meditation are wonderful ways to find out what is really going

on as well. It often brings us some self awareness that can really

help us identify more about our bodies as well as our minds.

Hope this helps,

Love & Light,

Mrs. Patt

i suggest a very simple remedy which has given very good results in india. i am sending a seperate note to the group. as per system of indian astrology, irritation is because of mars planet. may be high blood pressure also normally is seen in such cases. if you have read about reiki, finger tips are active. they are also antanne for planets who affect human lives whether some believe it or not. you may use coral of say 6 caret, ring of silver and worn in finger next to little. the backside of the ring must be closed. it will then create electro magnetic field, draw the rays maximum and then the finger tip antanne will get very minimum rays. this will solve the problem.

i am giving a small test. in india they give them on trial basis. you can take a coral, wrap in a small cotton cloth, put in your pockets for say one day. this may increase your irritation. which will show that if you are able to reduce the rays, it may go down by 50-75%. i have also used it for reducing high blood pressure problems as also reducing uneasiness of mind.

you also have the problem of soul enmity which unconsciously lets you find problems even with small thing. once you get some relief, i may share this with you.

try it & let me know.

Dear One,

Your cry in the night is but the sound of your heart aching for a greater closeness to God. Man often finds his outer life to be a complex web of constant distractions. He is ever tested on his ability to bring forth patience rather than anger. Anger is a self centered reaction to life in which the individual acts as if he is the center not only of his own universe but the universe of others. In truth, irritability is vanity for man communicates to life by his intolerance of it that he is somehow the victim of annoyances over which he has not control. Do you see, always, we speak of the spiritual underpinnings of any mental, emotional or physical imbalance. Seek you first the kingdom of heaven and all else will follow.

There is no knowledge other than that of Self or God. Herein lies the secret to your dilemma. Nothing that appears in your life is external to you for all is but the manifestation of what occurs within you. You are not in control of the movement of your attention. Thus, you feel helpless at those factors in your environment that enslave your attention when you would like it to be somewhere else. It is a worthy pursuit to gain governance over the movement of your attention, for it is in truth your creative imagination, that perceptual faculty which enables you to encompass all of life including the realization of God. However, your irritation at life is but your dissatisfaction with yourself. Fear, guilt and the illusion of unworthiness lie within the unconscious acts which you describe.

Yet, your desire to gain mastery over this factor in your life is but the cry of Soul for a greater realization of God. Man does not realize that living itself is the process of healing from past choices which interfered with the sacred space of others and created karmetic consequences which often are unwillingly experienced by those who have not yet matured spiritually and awakened to their responsibility for all that occurs in their life. Irritability is but the projection of responsibility on your environment of that which you have not accepted as your spiritual challenge to resolve with love. Do you see that anger is but man's attempt to control his environment through power when he can only control himself through forgetting himself and loving God. When man reaches the place where self servitude gives way to God service, he awakens to his spiritual greatness and becomes capable of accepting the Love of God.

So, first love yourself by recognizing that all that is within your life is but the effect of causes you have set in motion in this and other lifetimes. Secondly, become the student of life and observe the omnipresent lessons always offering another opportunity to reach deeper into your heart and the Heart of God. With this in mind, I will offer you a secret to transforming yourself and gaining contentment within no matter the outer circumstances. Many many years ago, I was instructed first in the dream state and later in my outer life about a word that could alter my relationship with all of life. It is a love song to God, the root of the word alleluia, the words Allah hu Allah and of the word human itself. Close your eyes, breath deeply and become aware of that which you love in life. With your attention on a point midway between the brows, remember your love for God and sing on the out breath, the word HU, pronounced like hue. HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Try this for 20 minutes a day and observe how you begin to vibrate with greater harmony even among the outer chaos of life.

Do not underestimate the gift I have just shared with you, for it represents lifetimes of experience within many levels of what man calls heaven. All can sing this word no matter what their belief system for we are each and all children of God. When you sing this love song with your heart open in gratitude for your Creator's Gift of Love and life, you will better understand the words all who come unto me shall be lifted. We are here to learn Divine Love and to serve all of life. Give forth from the love in your heart no matter the circumstances of your outer life. In so doing, more shall be given unto you, for you will have become the giver of gifts and all who come to you shall know that the reality of God exists here in this physical world as your beingness is a living demonstration of it.

May my words serve you and allow you to better recognize that which you are and that which you can be.

Much Love in Spirit,

Stephen

Good advice. Many people are actually chronic hyperventilators--that

is, they breathe too fast and too much air too quickly for the

circumstances in which they find themselves. Chronic hyperventilation

actually induces irritability, anxiety, and many other negative

states.

The key is to learn to breathe only through yur nose in the ordinary

circumstances of your life, and to learn how to breathe with your

whole body, not just your upper chest. I explain why on my website,

and even more fully in my book " The Tao of Natural Breathing, " and my

forthcoming book from Shambhala, " Free Your Breath, Free Your Life. "

In the meantime, when you find yourself irritated, see if you can

lengthen your exhalation so that it is much longer than your

inhalation. You can do this simply by blowing air slowly and gently

out through pursed (but relaxed) lips. Then just let the inhalation

come by itself. Take several breaths in this way and watch how your

state changes. This is a good emergency practice, but for real

transformation you will need to work with self-sensing, self-

awareness, and inner sincerity. A lot of our irritability is the

result of our unconscious expectations and inner attitudes about

ourselves and how people should treat us.

With my best wishes,

Beautiful post Stephen.

Here is some other ideas: alternate nostril breathing.

It is an old yoga technique, easily learned.

I find it much easier to do yoga when someone

talks me through it.

Recently I came across a CD or tape set that

included a half hour yoga session, as well as

the instructions for alternate nostril breathing.

Here is the web site.

The price is a ridiculously low $7 for tapes, or

$9 for CD. Worth it!

i can offer a suggestion. in yoga breathing is taken as the medium of taking more oxygen and bringing out toxic. one of the secrets of longer living of yogis is - in a simplified way- say count 4 or like that while inhaling and double it while exhating. whatever suits you. if you are sitting at home it could be more but while doing work or walking it could be less. no exertion to be taken. it is not easier for everyone to hold it . if one hold for sometime without any exertion, it is good. scientists say that air which we take in does not get fully utilised. when you are holding it or exhaling longer time, it purifies better. i have been using it for a long time. even while walking i unconsciusly practice it. you will be less tired. even during sexual act .while taking injections it has helped me.

normally first right nostril is closed and you inhale from left nostril. during walking, cooking, doing offie work it is not possible. you just keep an eye on your breathing about at least exhaling on higher counts. this will give you a freshness.

yogis also use it on holistic way. they may chant the name of one image of god and while exhaling chant om which is the universal sound. may be you can try saying jesus while inhaling and while exhaling if not om, may be say protects. one has to try to feel that all inappropriate feelings, emotions, thoughts, ie, garbage are going out while exhaling. this gives a strange peace and at the same time connects you to divine consciousness.

you have been doing exercises. may be some of the above information could be useful.

Dear d.k.,

How certain are you that om is the universal sound of God? Once a moth who was approaching its transformation to a butterfly met with another moth and was convinced that it was a moth. When the call of God spoke to its heart, it ignored IT and remained steadfast in its concept of itself as a moth. In like manner, elephants are often tied to a branch when younger and identify with the branch as a fixed state of being. When they are older and easily able to break the branch, they act as if it is a mighty tree. In my exploration of this world and those beyond it, I have come to realize that their are sounds within sounds and that each sound is but a key to unlock a door into a greater world of being. Thus, I have long ceased singing my song to God but instead grow quiet within and listen for the sound of God's Song as IT sings it to me. In so doing, I become the breath of God and the living sound of its heart. We are each the microcosm within the Macrocosm an ever enduring demonstration that God Loves and we be. Consider singing the HU as HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, as Rumi did and many of the great Sufi masters. Perhaps in time, I will share with you some of the ancient Persian Poets who knew that the seed Sound within all life was the very word used to identify man as hu man.

Much Love in Spirit,

Stephen
