Guest guest
Hello to all: Am new to the group & am being shown so many new & exciting ways to treat physical difficulties. I am writing in response to Kerry who is also suffering from fibro. I have suffered from extreme RLS since childhood & has certainly turned my life up- side down. I would not wish this on any one. I finally could not cope any longer & began taking prescription drugs so that I could sleep. This led to a nightmare of complications: fibromyalgia, deep depression, paranoia, skin rashes, ad naseum. Have seen several neurologists & have tried different drug therapies. They do stop the whole body restlessnes, but, in turn cause so many more complications. Have just decided to " live " with the RLS, since the other side of the coin is no better, only different. I recently came accross an article that stated that totally removing all salt from the diet would bring relief. Have been doing this & do seem to feel a tad better. Have worked with Bach Flower remedies & do feel that they assist. You would have to determine your own " remedy " depending on your own difficulty. If any one has any suggestions would love to know about them. Thanks for reading this long passage. Marianna

I was told to remover ALL sugars from my diet. And for me, I was totally devastated!!! For, I'm a sugar freak! So, I've cut out all dark soda, no sweets, candies and cakes, that sort of thing. I've cut out, for the most part, sugar in my cooking. I try to buy things with no or low sugar content. I also have to check out the Carbs, as we all know, that turns into sugar as well. I have cut out caffine as well. I feel somewhat better, but every now and then, I have something with sugar or a coke or coffe and the next day, I'm crippled. I'm researching herbal therapies at the moment. I'll get my list together and drop a new post with what I've found so far that works for me. Thanks again Marianna.. And good luck with your fight!!! Guest guest
Hi Kerri, I am new here but have found the same thing. The RLS would hit about an hour or two after I went to bed. So now it is... no sugar, sweets, caffeine, fruit, fruit juice or alcohol at least three hours before I go to bed. We are definitely watching the carbs too! After cutting out potatoes, the arthritis in my knee was gone!!! Yvonne
