Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your suggestion, Sarah. I took out a bottle of

colloidal silver nasal spray, (I think the formula for colloidal

silver is the same, whether it be nasal spray or not) and the

directions state " for moisturizing dry .... " Since moisture is the

problem, I wonder if this is a good choice?

Anyone?

TIA,

Buffy

What about colloidal silver? It is good for ear infections or yeasty

ears

Buffy,

You're right, it can be confusing. That is part of what I think holds

back colloidal silver from wider use, the fact that is is such a broad

use " agent " . It can be used to fight infections, as an antibacterial

agent, as a germicide in cleaning even. I am on an email list for

colloidal silver for pets that had a thread or two on yeast infections

in dogs ears. One of the answers to a lady asking if she could use it

in her lab's ears was yes she could use it to fight the infection as

well as afterwards to get rid of what remained (goo) and couldn't quite

be knocked out. It can be both put in the ear and given as or in the

drinking water (I like to give a bowl of each for those of mine that

want it). One of the women who answered her said something about not

having an occurrence of the yeast infection since she began giving it

to her dog. I guess the thing to remember with CS is that it is the

silver that does the work, the water is just the medium that carries it

and so is of less importance. I hope this helps some.

Sarah,

Since the infection is not present at this time, are you saying it is

OK to put the colloidal silver in her water every day to keep the

infection from returning? Or do I wait until the infection returns

and treat her with it by putting it in the ears and in her water?

TIA,

Buffy

Buffy,

If there is any left over effects from the infection in her ears you

can put the CS in her ears and it will " finish it off " . You can put

the CS in water for her whether she has an infection or not and it will

help fight off any future infections as well as clearing up any

residual infection. If the infection returns you can increase how much

she is getting, even give it to her directly by the dropper (not sure

how much as I have dogs not cats). My dogs don't have any infections at

the moment and I put out a little bowl of the CS beside the bowls of

plain water so if they want the CS it is there for them as they will

drink it of their own choice. I make my own colloidal silver so it

costs very little for me to do this. And as the CS can change color

(which doesn't make it less potent or anything, just strange looking)

it is a good thing I do.

If you want to talk to people who have gone through this with their

own animals the group address is:

CSCats-Dogs/

They are a really nice group of people, not a lot of email, very

helpful.

Thanks Sarah,

We just got some snow here, so I need to do something for her today.

I'm interested in how CS is made as it is very expensive to purchase!!

This is my dog we have been talking about, my DH doesn't like the

hair that cats leave. Also, they are too independent for him. Darn,

because I love them too.

Also thanks for the referral, my application is in.

Hi Buffy,

There are more than a few generators out there for you to think about

buying, or even making. They range in complexity and price as you might

imagine. I ended up getting the silver puppy as it is mid range in

price and very simple in operation. I'm not going to try going into how

you make CS as I'm not a scientific person and I don't fully understand

it. From what I can gather it has to do with electrodes and an

electrical current between 2 silver rods that suffuse the water with

silver ions, or something like that anyway. So the generators are

different in that some let you regulate the ppm (parts per million)

that you get when you make the silver, others don't. Some have

automatic shut off for when the ppm reach the level it is supposed to

or you set it for (a good thing!). And some have stirring methods, for

even distribution I guess. I liked the look of the silver puppy on the

whole, he made it simple with an auto off switch, no adjusting any

thing, a thermal stirring unit (a small light in a little light " box "

to heat the water just enough to stir it, so no mechanical parts

involved there) and a small beaker. It doesn't make a ton, some units

make up to a gallon which must be nice if you have a horse to does or

lots of animals. The beaker holds maybe 8 oz and I think it can

actually make up to a pint comfortably without reseting or anything. I

don't know enough about the other models but I know there are people on

the list who are happy with the ones they got and will tell you all

about them if you ask them to tell you about them. There are a ton of

articles written about CS and the how, what, why and all that, I

included a few in case you wanted to read some, and some of the links

to generators will take you to more. So here are a few links to some of

the models that seem to be the most popular so that you can chose what

is going to work best for you....
