Guest guest
There's a medical doctor that has written a book about the benefits of alpha lipoic acid, I think his name is Dr. Berkson, but he now lives in my hometown and I've heard him speak. He said that it's important to get German manufactured alpha lipoic acid, that some of the companies in the US get it from the Far East and the Oriental stuff is not as bioactive, not as good. Well, I had tried alpha lipoic acid in the past and didn't feel like it was doing anything so I had eventually stopped using it. I recently found out Dr. Berkson was recommending the Source Naturals brand of alpha lipoic acid (which comes in 300 mg. size, 120 tablets to the bottle at my health food store) so I got it. Has anyone else been using alpha lipoic acid? And, if so, did you see any changes? Because, sorry to be gross, but this time it has affected my urine. I now have a strong, obnoxious odor to my urine for a couple of hours after taking the alpha lipoic acid. The health store folks say that means that I'm dumping toxins but, for all I know, it's just some additive in the ALA that makes my urine smell so bad. I thought I'd check with other folks. Just curious.... - Anna
