Bingo! I found this on the Web:

LIPOIC ACID (lipoate; lipoamide): classified as a sulfur-containing fatty

acid; a component of the enzyme that converts pyruvate to acetyl CoA. Is

also both a water- and fat-soluble antioxidant.

(From http://www.suprahealth.com/a2d-glos.htm)

I would say that since the other alpha lipoic acid products had NO effect on

me and this line of product, the Source Naturals brand, did have an effect,

the change in my urine odor which is consistant with it being an

sulfur-containing fatty acid, then Dr. B was right about more alpha lipoic

acid being bio-available in this line of product. Good, now I feel like

maybe the stuff is really getting into my system.

Thanks!
