Guest guest
This as sent to me by a friend. Does anyone know if it is true and here I might find documentation to support it? I don't know if this is all true or not, but...the difference between margarine and butter? Both have the same amount of calories. Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams. Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter according to a recent Harvard Medical Study Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added! Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods. Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years. Now for Margarine... Very high in Trans Fatty Acids... Triple risk of Coronary Heart Disease... Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) Lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol) Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold... Lowers quality of breast milk... Decreases immune response... Decreases insulin response. And here is the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING! Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance). YOU can try this yourself: purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things: no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)...it does not rot or smell differently... because it has no nutritional value, nothing will grow on it...even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow Why? Because it is nearly plastic. " If you hear a different drummer, take a chance. The road you choose to travel means the difference in the dance. Guest guest
Greetings! I don't have any documentation concerning the butter v. margarine debate, but I'd like to bring attention to the merits of soybean margarine, which is all vegetable. I'd also like to share a personal experience in case anyone's interested! For most of my life I suffered chronic sinus problems and depression. I was approximately 28-years-old when I became aware of the horrors of factory farming. Soon after I one day decided to stop consuming eating flesh entirely. A year or so later I began to incorporate veggie butter, veggie cheese and veggie milk into my diet, eliminating dairy and I haven't had any sinus pain since. I believe a vegetarian diet is not only healthy for my body, but also for my soul. I no long suffer from depression. I feel that with each bite of animal flesh that I took, I was consuming pain, suffering, and death -- precisely what cows, chickens, pigs and other sentient beings experience all for the sake of feeding man " kind. " Here's a glimpse into reality (it's worth watching) http://www.bancruelfarms.org/meatrix Take care, M
Guest guest
Personally, I always avoded margerine & diet sweetners by instinct even before we knew what we now know about them. However, for health concerns, avoid both ! Toast garlic cloves & use it as a spread. Or, get a breadmaker, make fancy, flavored breads that require no spreads So says the Wolf
