Guest guest
Hi Carole, There is plenty that TCM can do for a patient receiving chemo. This would include acupuncture for nausea and/or pain relief as well as calming or stimulating benefits, depending on what you need. Herbal medicines can be a little tough, especially if your stomach gets weird. If it doesn't, they can do a lot to really assist the chemo in stimulating your immune system and generally supporting the organ systems in the body that are being effected by the chemo. Meditation, Qi Gong, and these kinds of activities of course are helpful as well. As for which herbs are right for you, I think that you might want to visit a TCM doctor rather than take herbs that are said to be good for this. Siberian Ginseng is a hot herb and that can damage the Yin (body fluids, etc.) in the body. In some cases of cancer, this is already a problem and so this herb can aggravate your condition. Chemo can also damage the Yin, so please do visit with a TCM doctor before taking anything. Locating a TCM doctor would be as simple as using a search engine... there are a variety of websites that feature long lists of TCM folk. One is my own, and I invite you to use it. http://gancao.net/Referrals/ref.shtml -al. Guest guest
I get real angry at traditional medicine, big pharma, and all that we as a society are going through in this world right now, too... I understood where you are coming from. I'm informed on much, but my need to keep learning about health is never ending. I haven't always practiced what I've learned either.. that's why we're human, I guess. I used to raise my vegs for years and avoided medications, was healthy. Sometimes for various reasons, we let go of the good living..but it catches up for some of us. I'm bent on getting well despite a cardiac arrest 3 years ago, stent surgery, angioplasty a year later, and now a triple bypass 11 wks ago.. not fun..very barbaric surgery and my nerve damage from being cut open all those hours is pretty bad. I was 49 when I had the heart attack, but my brother died without warning at barely 40, and my mom had the same things I do. I'm thankful I never was a big soda drinker, so it was nothing to cut it out totally. I know it's really hard for some people, especially the very addicting diet sodas. With diabetes and heart trouble, there isn't much I can eat, but I'm finding out more. Have a good night.. Guest guest
Shiree Homeopathic hypericum is good for nerve damage, and it is inexpensive. Your problems can be related to low thyroid.Have you been tested for thyroid? If so one of the biggest problems is the standard testing for thyroid which is just to do a TSH which is not reliable or nearly as good as a complete thyroid panel which drs don't do because they have been brainwashed about how to diagnose and treat thyroid.Low thyroid causes weight gain ,high cholesterol numerous heart conditions and many many other symptoms too numerous to mention.I can send you a lot of resources if you are interested in checking this out further. One of the easiest ways to check for low thyroid even before getting lab test is to take your morning temperature .....if it is below 97.8 it's a pretty good indication of a thyroid problem. If you have a thyroid problem diet won't help all that much, so you are spinning your wheels so to speak. Also thyroid problems run in families and there is an epidemic of undiagnosed thyroid problems today. Guest guest
Thanks again. Be careful what Doctors you go to. Most are of the AMA and they could care less about health and care more about money; and tests and drugs and money.... Not that some doctors may not be okay, but most have no idea that what you put in your mouth controls and acts on what happens IN your body. Seems we should have gotten way beyond that many centuries ago. But most have been conditioned to believe OLD lies. And the AMA has either murdered or shut down real research like Dr Hoxie or Rife. Wherein you and I could be CURED and 'they' would get no money any more. Eat well, exercise moderately, and you will live for a long time. --- Shiree1000 wrote: > I get real angry at traditional medicine, big > pharma, and all that > we as a society are going through in this world > right now, too... > I understood where you are coming from. > > I'm informed on much, but my need to keep learning > about health > is never ending. Guest guest
Chantal, Thanks for the info. Our Whole Foods Market used to have homeopathic there, and there are some organic coops I haven't checked in the city yet. I have always been "within normal limits" on the thyroid testing, sometimes a little toward the bottom but they always just order the TSH only!! I can identify with many of the hypothyroid symptoms and an online friend who has Hashimoto's used to think I had it too...My dad took thyroid medication when he was older, and so did my aunt, My skin has been VERY dry since 2000, but at that time it came on suddenly and I blamed Kava, Kava and then blamed it on possible liver problems..but the one liver test they keep running is normal. I have also blamed it on my age and perimenopause and now I think I'm possibly in menopause. Have other symptoms too. My temp always runs 97. something as it runs in the family and my daughter has that too. They say RH neg people run a lower temp also. I just found out for sure that I'm allergic to the iodine they put into angiogram dyes for my heart tests..they also added potassium iodide to my wrist band yesterday when I was in for a long heart scan and chemical stress test. I wish I could get the Dr. to run more thyroid tests..perhaps I'll just ask the next time I visit. Thanks! Lor Shiree Homeopathic hypericum is good for nerve damage, and it is inexpensive.
