In antient times (and now also), people used to be fooled by stories of invisitble spirits / Ghosts haunting people's lifes. Due to this fear people used to give money to people for solution to these ghosts.

Similar activity in 2009 - instead of Ghosts we have now invisible viruses with nice names such as H1N1 haunting people. To gain popularity - media has also contributed in spreading fear. Think who is benefitting from these news stories - do they have an interest in keeping this story alive?

Time and effort is put on controllign this invisitble eveil and little is doen in facing real problems such as clean drinking water, electricity, Infrastructure and road saftey. Cleanliness of Water, earth and air is left to Gods and we battle symptoms of problem with names like H1N1 or swine flue.

In addition to the H1N1 scare being aried by the News channels - It is funny to see India TV at its best - with reporters covered with masks talking about swine flue.

It would still be fine if the reporter is in a hospital ward full of swine flue patients - but it is taking to extreme - the reporter in the studio talking with a mask talking on mic with reporter on ground. It may be that the studio people think that the virus may travel through the mic and reach the reporter in the studio.

It seems to be a soap opera - with intention to get maximum viewer ship - by building on human fears.
