In the restaurants and even vegetable vendors all over the world today there is a practice of using artificial color.

Why? Is this color good for you?

Artificial color is added to food to:

1. Make it look more apealing to the eye. Our eyes have the capability of identifying quality of food by its color. However when the artificial color is added - we get decieved into beliving that the food is good.

2. To hide any bad colored vegetables which are in mashed form. Not all vegetables are of the color desired by the market. Hence artificial color is coated on them.

3. To be able to sell more of the same stuff for longer period of time. Vegetables loose there color over time. But by adding artificial color, they retain the same color.

How is this bad for health?

1. Your body will react to these chemicals - after all can you imagine eating raw color - does it have any nutritive value?

2. Your body will need to work extra hard to eliminate these color chemicals - this puts extra load on kidnesy.

3. You do not get to eat vegetables in fresh form - hence the nutritive value of the food is less that what it should be. Hence your body is robbed of the nutrients it required.

4. In case the body is not able to elimiate these harmful chemicals, they will accumulate in the body in the form of toxins - leading to further medical problems.h

This process of adding artificial color to food is called adultration.

Some companies advertise that they are using " Safe " " Approved " colors - however that is far from truth.

There is little study done to prove much of safe color theory. Long term effect of using these colors on human body is not known.

Did you know that you were paying for food as well for the artificial color in the food? And after you fall sick you also end up paying the doctor.

What needs to be done:

Avoid food with artificial color.
