I saw this video and like it - found it funny and was concerned about safty of health. However, I am sorry to break this but this video is not true. And similar videos on cooking eggs with cell phones is also not true.

Please refer to http://www.hoax-slayer.com/cell-phone-popcorn.shtml

Or try doing it yourself - it will not work.

It is one of the internet hoaxs that has got spread.

As per hoax-slayer - which is a good site that tracks such hoaxs - worth a visit for all:

Although the videos may look authentic, the apparent results are due to clever video editing or other trickery. In fact, it has now been revealed that the videos are a form or " viral " advertising for Cardo Bluetooth headsets. Yet another YouTube video " owning up " to the prank is now available:

In spite of claims made in several YouTube videos, you cannot make popcorn using cell phones.

Hi Lokesh,

Thanks for this mail...this is indeed a big relief.....though the side-effects of using a mobile phone cannot be ignored. I have been worried and reading a lot on the net about effects of using a mobile phone after I got this link (http://www.dailymot ion.com/relevanc e/search/ portable/ video/x5odhh_ pop-corn- telephone- portable- microon_news) as a fwd.
