Guest guest
Stimulate positive thoughts by yoga When the mind is silent, we are in our essential state, which is pure unbounded consciousness, says Dr HK Chopra Meditation is a very powerful tool. It integrates thoughts, perceptions, interpretations, experiences and volition. If you want to know what your thoughts were in the past, look at your body today and if you want to know what your body will be in the future, look at your thoughts today. We can stimulate positive thoughts by regular meditation. Meditation is a part of the yogic tradition in India. Yoga, to put it simply means a union of the body, mind, soul, spirit and environment. This union is possible in Yoga sutra by meditation. Yoga is progressive settling down of the mind, into the field of pure silence. When the mind is silent, we are in our essential state, which is pure unbounded consciousness. Usually our essential state is overshadowed by the activity of the mind. Our expression or existence has three levels. The physical body is an entity in space and time. My physical body is here right now, sitting, as I write this. The physical body is born, lives and dies. The shelf life of our physical body today is 80 – 90 years. The physical body has two components — 1) The material component, which is made up of food. 'We are what we eat'. If we eat the right food, at the right time, at the right place, in the right manner, in the right dose and in a right environment, then we will have the right material component of our physical body. The physical body comprises of bones, tissues, organs, skin, hair, etc. 2) The energy component, which is described as Pranain Yoga; Pranais known as 'vital' force in English, 'Chi' in China, 'Kee' in Japan and 'Ruh' in Arabic. It is recognized across religions and cultures as the all important life force emanating from human beings. If we derive adequate energy from our sensory inputs such as vision, hearing, touch, smell and taste, then we will be energetic. If we visualize landscapes, flowers, plants, trees, fruits and vegetables, forests, stars, moon, sky, etc, then they will energize us. But, if we watch violence and destruction, it may deenergize us.
