Guest guest
Remember Dr Asthana in Munna Bhai MBBS? Besides Munna and Circuit, his character also gained popularity because of the way he laughed after getting irritated with Munna. But it seems that he was not wrong in doing that because laughter is one of the best ways to get rid of your stress and tension. Psychological research has proved this. If not a cure for all ailments, it's certainly a good preventative measure that also makes you feel great. Whenever we laugh, we release a wave of chemicals in the body including the endorphin hormone, which is also released during exercise. Endorphins are the body's natural pain-relaxant that stimulate feelings of well being, joy and give you a high. In fact, experts opine that your daily laughter quota should equal at least 15 chuckles a day, or you are under laughed. Does that bring a smile to your face? BENEFITS OF LAUGHTER ARE... By laughing, you intake vast amounts of oxygen in huge gulps. This is like a temporary hyperventilation session. If you laugh daily, it increases the body's oxygen intake at the cellular and organ levels. It stimulates both sides of the brain to enhance learning. The brain becomes more alert. Laughing a lot also eases muscle tension and stress and allows people to retain more information. Bonding and connecting socially at work, home and with friends needs humour and light moments. When you see a person laughing, you automatically follow and start laughing too. At times, you don't even realise this because it is a natural phenomenon. Your body feels refreshed and you are ready to continue your day with renewed spirit. When we laugh together, it can bring us closer instead of pulling us apart. Laughing also boosts blood circulation, you're exercising abdominal and facial muscles and you're enhancing the flexibility of various joints throughout your body. So it's a bit of a physical exercise and healthy body movement as well. Regular laughter in your life could help reduce your risk of developing heart disease. Experts recommend 15 minutes of laughter a day as well as regular exer cise to reduce your risk of cardiovascular diseases. One of the best ways to feel good is to laugh at yourself. The person who has this ability will lead a healthy life. Looking at a problem from a different perspective can make it seem less formidable and provide opportunities for greater objectivity and insight. Plus, the good feeling that we get when we laugh can remain with us as an internal experience even after the laughter subsides. LAUGH ALONG...
