Guest guest
Good news - this should be brought down to zero! http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India_pegged_way_down_in_alcohol_cons umption/articleshow/2231456.cms NEW DELHI: Indians might think of themselves as great tipplers. But when one comes down to hard numbers, India is still Gandhi's land. In fact, India is 150th among 184 countries in WHO's Global Status Report on Alcohol 2004. The ranking is according to alcohol consumed in litres of pure alcohol per capita per annum. India's per capita consumption in the population over 15 years of age is just 0.86 litre. That's insignificant compared to the top 20 countries — it's 19 litres in Uganda and more than 10 litres in Russia.
