Guest guest
Dear ATFE, I want to take a moment to reply to some of the things we have been reading about the group moderators, and fill you in on where we stand, our intentions, etc. One thing that liberates ATFE is what appears to be a hands-off policy on discussion here. We try very much to allow adult conversation within the community. And we trust that people will think before they post, and consider the ramifications of their actions. Our subject is broad, but our core group is a reasonable size for stimulating debate. We have tried to create a place that is both welcoming to the newbie, and that moves discussion of the industry forward. Behind the scenes, we are actively engaged, and moderating takes a good deal of time and effort. And it's a strictly volunteer job. Another thing that sets ATFE apart from the other groups is that we acknowledge that we all have emotions, or a bad day. We have 4 owners, who are *also* listmoms or moderators. This difference allows us to keep things going, and know that we are all committed to one another in a very real way. As one is dealing with crisis, the others step in, and so on. It keeps the group coming back to it's core. Through the ups and downs of any group's life, we remain committed to the effort. Below are our rules for posting, which you all got when you joined, along with other helpful info. We value your membership, and hope you will take time to read this again. Thank you, Liz, Jeanine, Stacey, and Christina ATFE Owners and List Moms Rules for Posting: 1. ATFE is a totally is a non-commercial group. This means NO promotion or advertising of ANY commercial products, suppliers, or educators on the email list. If you have a question about purchasing oils please request replies off list or check member’s signature lines. 2. · We do *NOT* support or recommend oils sold on a MLM basis or from those who claim to *cure* disease or illness in any promotional literature or web site · We *DO* support suppliers who provide relevant and adequate safety information. If you are a supplier or educator, you may add a four line signature to your emails that includes a link to your web site. Please Snip Excessive Quotes And Change Subject Heading When replying to posts please try to snip anything that is not relevant to your response, along with the ads that automatically attaches to the bottom of all posts. This helps those on digest and keeps the archives easy to search and read. If, as often happens, a subject you are responding to drifts into discussion of a different subject or oil, please remember to change the subject line – again this is to help structure our archives into a searchable data base of information. ( only searches subject line so - for instance - *Basil* discussed under a *Jasmine* thread would not be found!) 3. No Flaming Disagreements with other members’ opinions are fine and can be educational, but let’s not get personal or nasty. The moderators will end any thread deemed to be personally attacking another member. If a member continues a thread after a moderator has ended it, the member will be prevented from posting for a *cool down* period. Re starting a closed thread after *cool down* will result in being d from the group. 4. Respect The Privacy Of Other Members Please do not pass on information from this group to non members, blogs, and other lists/groups or include such information on a web site. This is a violation of members' privacy and of 's TOS (Terms of Service) and will result in you being d from the group. 5. Copyright If you find something on the net that you would like to share with the group, PLEASE give a link to the web site rather than copying and pasting content from it. Most webs pages today hold a Copyright and reproducing from them not only violates Copyright law, it also upsets (who have been known to come down very hard on groups for copyright violation). If the web address is too long to copy, use *http://tinyurl.com/* to cut it down to size. We will delete all posts containing copyrighted material.
