Guest guest
Just had a painful tooth pulled so should be a tad less grumpy, well at least until someone starts throwing stones I just wanted to make a recommendation on a film I have just seen that is related to conservation issues surrounding herbs. I just saw AVATAR at the cinema using the 3D glasses, wow has that technology advanced. In my opinion this film ranks high among the finest of all time. Aside from the fantastic sets, special effects, acting, all of which are superb, the film has a strong underlying story line related to conservation issues of forests and native tribes. Waste of time seeing this on a TV screen by hiring a DVD. You really need that big screen to appreciate it. With the 3D you seem to get dragon flies come from behind you and pass through shrubs just as in life. This is one for the whole family, but thinkers and conservationists will appreciate it more. Guest guest
ME TOO!! saw it Sunday with my family, was the greatest. Agree you have to see it on Imax big screen. I loved the message too. However my daughter got really depressed about how the future repeats the past, etc.....anyway, definitely agree on the recommendation. Guest guest
AVATAR IMAX 3D is best, 3D is not enough for a movie like this, IMHO. Please make it is real IMAX, many fake ones in US. check out this link to make sure it is real IMAX http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en & ie=UTF8 & t=h & source=embed & msa=0 & ll=11.005904\ ,-84.726562 & spn=76.455485,113.554688 & z=3 & msid=113621990356540393221.000469b6c591\ 5161c3667 I booked the ticket a week ahead and went to the theater 2 hrs before it started, just to get a good spot! Ouch. Get better soon. Re: Avatar. We saw it in 3-D at IMAX and I was mezmerized from start to finish. Visually, it was amazing. The story message was frosting on the cake. For those of us who have been involved in conservation, stewardship and complexity of ecosystems that include human culture, it was a wonderous movie to behold. We always stay to watch credits, mostly as a silent thank you to all the people involved (also to see if anyone we know worked on the film), and I watched others leave the theatre wondering if some of them truly got the message. Guest guest
Hi Marcia, Us too, we always stay to watch the 'credits' and just sit in awe of all the folks it takes to make such a production whether animated or real. Always have to stay to find out where it was filmed too. Although we have not yet seen the movie Avatar, we have played the Wii version of the game. And we have a 52 " TV that we play it on, the scenery in the 'game' version was very impressive too. AND yes even in the 'game' they talk about conservation of both the forest and the 'tribes'. Can't wait to see the movie. Won't see it in IMAX though as don't want to travel 150 miles to see it. My kids (DD: recent graduate in marine biology and DS: future " green " architect) both saw it and were absolutely amazed and thrilled. They both loved the graphics too, and since my husband/their Dad is a motion graphic designer, they also said we MUST see it in 3D and in the IMAX theater. Maybe this weekend, I just found out at work today that we can order tickets online and actually reserve a specific seat at the theater...and I was told exactly where to sit!
