Guest guest
Hi Sylla and all: What I know of this oil may fill a bottle cap, but it has many names and has been used since BC by hundreds of years to read the background. It has up to 45% more Omega 3 fats and unique antioxidant properties that keep it from going rancid as fast as other oils, especially Flax seed oil. It can be used as a supplement, for cooking, or as a carrier oil. What I have was produced in the USA and is Ex Virgin. Think it is normally cold pressed. Grown in the PNW in the USA, I believe. Supposedly tastes better than Flax and is why it is sometimes called Better Flax. Looks a lot like Flax growing and probably came here in Flax seed supplies. Some say it has a flowery smell, but I think it can be one of the mildest oils around other than fractionated coconut. Since it is a seed oil, it should not cause problems for those with nut allergies. Speaking of which: Are there folks here that have both allergies: Nut oils and seed oils? Lastly, it is a member of the Brassicacae family which includes rape seed, broccoli, etc. Normally, I stick to a few oils instead of as many as I have in the past years. Those are Fractionated Coconut for it's unlimited shelf life, and I adore a good Organic Sunflower and use both by the gallons. Others I use in lesser quanities like Tamanu, Camelina, some others as a formula needs. Never do I ever use EVOO or Almond anymore due to racidity, no matter how much Vit. E or ROE you use, I like for my money to go further than those can do for me. Cook with EVOO tho. <grin> Hope this helps a bit. A most fragrant evening to you all, deb
