Guest guest
> > So one company has done more to promote their agenda than all the rest of the aromatherapists and essential oils companies combined. That is where I feel NAHA and all the other organizations have fallen short. One many years old White Paper is not enough. > amen sister - can we see some unity on this issue? right on about press releases, updating websites - unfortunately appearances do matter in presenting information too. is everyone afraid of being sued? can't the dangers of raindrop therapy be clinically quantified? can't you get access to information found in suits against raindrop practitioners, there must be plenty.. it is like getting blood from a stone to get info from insurers, that wld be for cases settled out of court - are insurers covering raindrop therapy? do they know how dangerous it is? i remember finding the swedish institute in nyc one of the oldest massage schools in the country teaching raindrop therapy, this was years ago, don't know if they still offer it but certainly there are plenty others, shld be made aware of potential liability at the very least. as a massage practitioner and around the business for many years i can say safely no one really expects the trade associations to do anything more than sell insurance and education (certainly none of our groups is standing up for us in the continuing healthcare debate in this country). anything getting into the 'political' realm takes money coordinated effort and hiring professionals who know what they're doing. i know it's difficult for smaller industries where there is not a lot of money flowing to convince themselves it is worth it to pay a pro to, oh say design a cirriculum for them, or orchestrate a media campaign, but really in this case i would think it's worth it. i am only a lurker but i have to say i am getting sick of the marketing gobbldey gook, association this association that, really just do your job which is promoting aromatherapy, let's be honest. in whatever form that takes, but if you are purporting to do something about safety then please let's make a better effort. refugee from bunch of other lists, really backbiting is fine as long as it's funny but i do want to read about research, new findings, secrets from the flavoring/fragrance/essential oil industry, oh and personal stories about people not paying hotel bills for conferences, now that's entertainment! (i'm not being sarcastic) one note about mlm, separately from raindrop therapy, i think part of the appeal is buying stuff from your friends/acquaintances, i see people who shld know better and i can only conclude it is social and also supporting each other monetarily here and there, i mean let's all just bake each other cakes, but unfortunately it takes this form. i think the big one now is arbonne - anyway hard to combat the appeal of mlm, yl has just done a better job of marketing - back to reality,
