Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, Must be the year for puppy babies! We got two little Papillons back in November. They are 2 little 'gems' - named Agate (Aggie) and Tanzanite (Tanzi). Both are little girls. (We have had other dogs named after gemstones too). They are precious gems. Papillon is French for 'butterfly' for those not familiar with the breed. They are small under 10 lbs and have ears that have flowing long hair (when adults), curled tail over back with rest of hair coat short. Mostly white fur with dark marks on face and ears. We are not used to having puppies though as we haven't had a puppy in the house for nearly 20 years. I forgot how much work they are in these first few months, especially since we don't have real kids around to help with all the house training etc. Our 'Old timer' Pearl is nearly 16 years old a Yorkie (we have had a few of this breed) and she is quite happy to just sit on your lap and lick your hand. Our one son just got 2 pomperanian babies and our other sons have yorkies, yorkie mixed and King Charles mixed. All these puppy babies are less than a year - so yes we have lots of Grand dogs!! You can see a photo of the new 'gems' them by visiting this http://www.birchhillhappenings.com/gems.jpg This was the day we brought them home. They aren't much bigger. Aggie weighs 5.5 lbs and Tanzi weighs 4.5 lbs. Just love having Four Legged Fur Kids. They are always happy to see you. Enjoy your puppy - they grow way too fast. Penny Smile - Your day will be brighter All day long! Guest guest
Sugar, BTW Welcome to the group. I don't write often but will when I have time and something to offer, sometimes fun, sometimes serious. Being you are visually impaired I know that you would welcome more of a description about our puppies, the papillons. I worked for 35 years in the Veterinary field and had an opportunity to know several 'working' or service dogs. At the clinic I worked at there were 2 Seeing Eye dogs that were fantastic. Another dog was for a young man who was for a quadriplegic. And then we had an Arson dog and a drug dog. These animals were so wonderful to work with whenever they came in. The folks they worked with were awesome too. They were all given routine care free of charge. Now for our puppies. They feel quite muscular but not excessive. They are tiny of course but their muscles make them sturdy. Their fur is soft and fine like that of a rabbit. They run very fast like rabbits too! Their ears stand upright and are large for their heads. And of course they carry their tail up over their back. Eventually the ears and tail will have long flowing hair. Hope that helps a little since I know you couldn't see their photo. Have a great evening and it's fun to have you on the group. It is a great group and you will learn a lot. We all learn here. All of us, all the time! Keeps us young! Penny Always start your Day with a Smile! Guest guest
Oh they sound adorable, Penny, thanks for the description. my little Roxy is a tea cup chewhawa and her name is Roxy. she is 2.5 pounds, 5 years old, a tan color(I've been told) and she is a deer head, so she looks like a mini bambi... she prances when she walks, and very, very, very spoiled. she goes to the groomer to get foo foo up by nails getting painted pink, or red, depends, at times they are purple, green, or blue,smile... she wears little outfits for certain days, and depends on weather. she has little diamond studd collar, with a little bell around her neck so I know where she is, and she uses it for attention. well, her tongue is always forever sticking out due to a little over bite, but to cute. I hope to learn alot more here. thanks again, glad to be here. sugar When you can't put your prayers into words , God hears your heart. ~Be Blessed, Sugar - Penny ATFE Wednesday, January 27, 2010 4:17 PM Re: Well, I have a new baby. - We have 2 new babies too!!
