Guest guest
Hi Group, We have a brand called Elemis in the UK, may be in the States too.I have a link to their product page in CentreParcs and it is rather funny the BS they say about their products, particularly how they describe their formula's as ancient. http://www.aquasana.co.uk/sana/treatments/houses/elemis.jsp Happy New Year All, Rebecca
Guest guest
Hi Rebecca, You are so right about the plethora of cosmetic companies who make marketing claims that when examined are pretty flimsy. Elemis is a 20-year old cosmetic company. They are like many other large corporations who are engaged in 'greenwashing' their products in order to compete with the emerging natural cosmetic movement. In this case, they are exploiting the current trend for 'ancient' theories and formulaes. It is all marketing hype. Here's their story on their company website: http://www.elemis.com/OurStory/Default.aspx I would compare them to Aveda here in the U.S. It was relatively easy to expose DoTerra here in the U.S. because they were blatantly misleading customers into thinking they had an official government approval or certification for the quality of their essential oils that they did not. It was a scam easily exposed. Marketing hype is a little muddier and there are so many big cosmetic companies out there that I think our time might be best focused on essential oils themselves and teaching people how to determine quality on their own. I'm tardy on the follow-on article I promised about what to look for and how to determine quality essentialy oils on the blog; hopefully I can get to it by the weekend. Things are really busy for us and we have several people out with the flu. I haven't forgotten about this; just have to segue energy elsewhere for a bit. There may be information in the files here that can help some of the newbies, also. Guest guest
I am new to the group.I have read through a majority of the posts and am excited to find a group that takes so seriously the benefits of essential oils. I am excited to read more and learn from the group. However, I do want to add that I have never been led to believe that doTERRA had any FDA approval. This is news to me that the company expounded any such information.
