OT--berry picking

Well, I'm not in Anchorage anymore so cannot enjoy a bowl of crow berries with a

sprinkle of sugar. We have some wild blackberries on property; but the state

keeps mowing beyond their 10ft easement so they're few in number.

Talking berries - I was given a big bag of Sloe berries this year. I

tried to make Sloe Gin and it turned out ok'ish (if you like sour

port/red wine!) but it should have been more like a sweet/plumb after

dinner liquor.

Has anyone tried this? if so how did it work out? Wondering why mine

just didn't make the grade....

Any clues?

Here's a link I've used before.  Everything turned out great.  I gave it to

friends to test.  I don't drink alcohol so I couldn't  test it. 

They loved the sweet taste!
