Hi Bing,

A great big welcome to the group. I'm glad you found us. :-)

> Hi everyone! I am new to this group and I have a quick question here. I am

trying to buy this book " The Practice of Aromatherapy " book by Jean Valnet

edited by Robert B. Tisserand. There are 3 editions of it from the year 1982,

1990, and 2005 (different cover). Are they very different? How different? If so,

which book should I get?<

Not sure which edition of the book I have. (It's in storage.) Let's see what

Mr. Robert B. Tisserand suggests. :-)

Take care,

Stacey

Hi Bing, the editions are all the same, so I guess buy whichever is cheapest, or

go for your preferred cover!

Yes, just reprints. Valnet never revised his text, and I did not add any edits

either.

This book needs some care. It is a book giving a lot of the therapeutic uses of

herbal medicine. It does contain some useful information on essential oils, but

for those who do not know, most of the actions given do not hold good for the

same plants essential oil.

Take a look at Lemon for example, and look at the properties section. This is a

hash of uses, some for oil, some for the juice, some for the peel and not

clearly defined which is which. Beware and read it very carefully.
