Hi I want to make myself a calming blend to help with anxiety and I love neroli

and petigrain and rose otto so want to put those in. Plus I have some Roman

Chamomile to add but would appreciate ideas on ratio for the blend and which

base oil to use (I have apricot kernel/almond and jojoba oils). Thanks for any

help :) hette

use the Neroli (wonderful for anxiety!) and Petitgrain... the rose would be

simply if it 'works' aromatically...although it does wonders for a woman's

spirit... I'd reach for Vetiver...grounding!... both aromatically and

emotionally... The neroli and vetiver would be key for their emotional

effects.

Since you are using costly oils, I'd go with the jojoba for it's long

life... sweet almond can go rancid in just a few months..be a shame to ruin

a beautiful blend with a shortlived carrier.

Hi

You could add the R chamomile - but it can take over a blend. I find it much

too over powering, personally. If you really want to use it (is it a

favorite?) dilute it first - say - one drop in 5mil jojoba, then use one

drop of the diluted chamomile in your blend - you can always add more later.

As for amounts - how are you planning on using the blend? If its for skin

application then it needs to be more diluted than if you plan on inhalation

only.

So, for skin application you want to keep to around 2.5% to 3% - no more,

and that may seem high'ish to some.

There is (or should be) a dilution chart in the files section giving

EO/Carrier Oil ratios - I'll check and make sure its there :-)

What other oils do you have? I'm thinking the Petitgrain may outweigh the

Neroli. Do you have lavender? Wonderful with either Petitgrain or Neroli for

calming/lifting the spirits. One drop of Rose with that is really nice

(subjective!).

There are no hard and fast rules on amounts (except for skin use) and as its

for your personal use, then you need to find a combination you *really like*

rather than follow set recipes.

Start with small amounts so if your not keen on the end result you haven't

wasted too much :)

As I'm typing this is coming to me

10mil carrier oil

1 drop Rose

2 drops Neroli

1 drop Lavender

and if you really like it, then add one drop of diluted Chamomile.

Let us know what other oils you have (the Vetiver suggested by Marge would

be very good if you have it) and lets see what else we can suggest :)

As I said, the neroli and vetiver would be the keys, so I would use more of

those two.

I would not include the roman chamomile.
