Probably should keep to myself, being freshly awakened and opened up by the

Robbi Zeck workshop- AMAZING and more on that later, but I just need to dialog

about this with a large group to help me sort out my feelings on it

major supporter in the past NOT supporting UAE now because they are a

conscientious objector........????? isn't that about not fighting..... an

opposition to the war, OK I remember Viet Nam days.....and I get that we are

mostly ALL opposed to war, any war, but, but, but (feel like Marge!) .....they

are serving and doing THEIR duty, our sons and daughters, brothers and fathers,

mothers and sisters,

so we need to support them - who are supporting us to live here and be free....

it don't matter if you are black or white.....

any thoughts on this?

Der Sylla,

Does Robbi Zeck realize that without a strong army and our sons and

daughters out there serving our country that she would not have the " right "

to be a " conscientious objector " ? Does she not realize that she would not

be able to be free if not for our military? We may not always agree with

the politics but we do need to support our children that are out there.

What you are doing with the UAE is important for the morale and well-being

of our children. Maybe Robbi should take a vacation to a country that does

not have freedoms that we enjoy here in our country.

this is how I feel too, we are taking care of the babies!!

its like people asking me why I have this tape on my ankle, like Im hurt. I am

wearing camo self sticking tape, looks like a tattoo and represents the fact

that they wear camo uniform everyday for a years. So can wear this tiny bit I in

honor- must admit the color palate is not as flattering as I would like in a

shirt.....so this way I have it on my ankle, although i have some cute booty

camp undies!! HEEHEE

so I tell them it is because my Jim would give anything to be able to wear some

old jeans and a t shirt....

Dear Sylla,

Thanks for the clarification on Robbi.

My husband wears my son's old camo outfits when he is not in his police

uniform. I think that it is cute because my husband says " he can legally

wear these camos because they have his name on them. " (laughing out loud)

Usually it is the son who wears his dad's clothes and not the other way

round as in our home. I wear my son's old camo t-shirts and Naval Academy

shirts when I can. By wearing his clothes it makes him feel closer to us

even when he is far away.

I am still chuckling over the fact that he said that he would use the Tea

Tree and distribute packages for us. He is finally becoming really aware of

the little " treasures " that we in the at world can send these kids. I hope

that one day our at supplies are purchased by our government to go into

each of our kids backpacks, etc.

Take care.

Well, I more or less consider myself a CO, don't think war serves any of us

and I'm looking forward to the day we evolve beyond it . . . However, when

the deed is done and we are there, I support all our children put in harm's

way. They are doing their duty and I'm proud to send products to UAE to

help them make the best of it.

That said, I will still rail at the politicians to examine the reasons for

war and encourage them to choose not to go to war, especially before

adequate diplomacy can possibly find other solutions. Not about to take it

out on the troops, though. That WAS a mistake in the 60's.

thanks for having the courage to say this, marcia.

my dad was a korean war vet, one of the first black men in an " integrated " air

force. i grew up around the military, including my childhood health care, my

education, and my very first jobs as a teenager, working as a busgirl in the

non-commissioned officer's club.

but i question our motives now. they seem more corporate than humanitarian.

Rhavda said " By wearing his clothes it makes him feel closer to us

yes! I told Jim I wanted to be just like him, so he sent me a 'boonie' hat, as

that is his daily headgear in camp!! works great in FL- he had given me camo

pants years ago, and a jacket w/ his name- its the 'old' woodland camo, not the

digital they wear now....

there is a thought.......and this was the first thing Sara Holmes said when I

said we going military, she reminded that teatree/lavender was used by Jean

Valnet, so we are coming full circle!!

and Marcia reminded me we are setting up UAE for the future now, I wont be

around forever, so someone will take over and keep it going, would be wonderful

to visualize that happening, aromatherapy becoming part of their kits......we

got a lot of work to do team!!

Dear Sylla,

I'm so glad that you do the same thing that we do. It makes me feel better

to know that I am not alone.

Our son will be home late tomorrow night for a few days. He has to report

to Camp Pendleton in about 10 days so our visit will be short but sweet. He

is bringing home most of his things for us to store while he will be in

Afghanistan. My husband will probably find some new clothes for him to wear

after our son is gone.

Sylla, I do have an idea for how you can sell to the Military. I will find

the information and send it to you in a few days.

Take care and talk to you soon.
