Guest guest
The most effective insect repellent still is good old fashioned camphor. The problem is it can be slightly toxic to us as well. You may also not know that there are two versions, natural and synthetic. I think the natural is more effective because it contains traces of other chemicals from the wood. If you keep your yarns in closed cupboards then you can just sprinkle camphor crystals around in there and they last for months. Use household gloves or you will have the smell on your hands for hours. Any yarns that are in the general environment such as hanging tapestries, or clothing i would be wary of using camphor. Then an essential oil such as suggested by Butch may be better diffused. I very much doubt you will find herbs effective as most bugs like eating them. Lavender and cedar immediately come to mind and I am going to start there...but any other suggestions welcome! > > Sue >
