Guest guest
Howdy Sue, > I am researching herbs and essential oils for use in the storage of yarn > and other fibers, protecting them from mold, and pests. Lavender and cedar > immediately come to mind and I am going to start there...but any other > suggestions welcome! > Oregano .. any of the Carvacrol rich Origanums .. and Rosemary, Cineole (Rosmarinus officinalis) .. and Sage .. any of the Salvias will do the job. I've got a lot of costly hunting clothes that I keep in a closet I made in our barn .. it can get damp in there and like any barn there are lots of 6 and 8 laig creeping critters. I use both the herbs from our garden and the essential oils. Works like a charm it does. > Sue > Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
Guest guest
Butch, What's your mode of application? Hang the herbs or scatter on the floor? Are the EOs applied to the herbs as they wane (like a potpourri)? On cotton balls distributed throughout? I'm assuming you do not apply them to the hunting clothes themselves. *grin* Thanks for the input! I have a lot of those right in my garden! I'm going to go harvest and try everything and see how they work! THANK YOU! Sue

I told him to take all the clothes to the base laundry/cleaners and to keep processing till the stink was gone......... Sue Martin
