Hi-

I have a little request for the members of this group.

(I'm new to the forum and fairly new to aromatherapy, so please forgive and

instruct me if this violates any protocol.)

I have a friend very dedicated to a certain MLM's essential oils. VERY

dedicated. She recently shared a new website with me that collects people's

testimonials about essential oil use.

Now, I'm still in the eager beaver stage, and so I went eagerly the website and

did some searching. However, I know enough to notice that there is NO traceable

way to identify who's running this little anonymous website-- and no sign that

the posts are being moderated or edited for safety concerns, etc. And as I did

a few searches, I noticed a decided preference for that MLM and its trademarked

blends, etc.

Now.

I know many of you have testimonials to share-- friends, clients, or personal

experiences-- positive ones, to be sure. And that's fine. But also, I know

you've had experiences of a different sort-- where oils were handled carelessly

or used incorrectly, with negative consequences, or when a certain company's

techniques were followed with less than positive results.

All I'd like to ask is that those of you who have some time and interest in

sharing some truth over there, do so-- without unnecessary venom or anything

that might attract too much reactive attention.

I see this as an opportunity to spread a little education into a community

that... um.... REALLY needs it. There are only about 3000 " testimonials " so

far; a few cautionary tales and " alternatives to " certain products will surely

make a difference in the results people get as they do searches on this site.

My experience is limited, and I have no cautionary tales to tell. But I know

some of you do, and I feel for these people. Please help if you can.
