MODS: my previous post was a little inaccurate.

My impression had been that the oil-testimonials.com site was rather recent--

perhaps mostly because I'd never found the site myself, and I've done a ton of

searching online for oil info.

But comments on http://www.oil-testimonials.com/comments.php go back all the way

to 2004. So if the list as a whole is already aware of this site, please just

delete my post.

Thanks-

Kim

Kim, not sure if you realise or not that this site is just another Young Living

scam. See book reviews on my .org site.

Martin,

Thanks so much-- yes, I've done a lot of YL research at your site, including

reading through those 1997 files. Your links were instrumental in

convincing me that YL is a bunch of hooey. (Bless you for that.)

I am aware that the oil-testimonials.com is basically a YL-affiliated site;

but posting is open to anyone. And given that most YL followers are rather

isolated by what they're taught about other sources of aromatherapy

information, it seemed to me that a few helpful non-YL posts about the

dangers of some of their recommended methods might help people to at least

begin to question what they're being told. (I feel for these people, and in

particular for my friend, who's at their national convention right now,

soaking up all the deception and baloney.)

Perhaps I'm a bit of an idealist; I just thought it might be worthwhile for

the more knowledgeable here to share some warnings over there. The lack of

response makes me think I was probably mistaken, for whatever reason.

That's fine- I'll go back to lurking. I'm enjoying the list discussions and

recommendations and am learning tremendously from them.

Thanks to all!

Hi Kim,

Don't think that you are mistaken about how most of us feel, but I think

that we old timers are now somewhat disintersted because we spent so much

time back in the early 90's debunking and exposing Gary Young and YL.

Archiving all the posts for the files on Martins page was something that I

had done back then; they first resided on Graham Sorensons website and now

on Martins, with some updates along the way. I am a bit weary of this and

most of us have moved on to informing people in other ways. Not that we

have changed our minds, but providing all the investigation and reports back

then was a big job; you can understand that we certainly don't want to do it

all over again. You certainly can post links to Martin's YL pages to that

group, as well as links to more credible and factual aromatherapy

information. I (and others) have moved on to researching and providing

information on group blogs like http://www.aromaconnection, as well as our

own websites and blogs. Certainly not trying to make you think that keeping

up the dialog isn't worthwhile, just think it's time to pass the torch.

Thanks for the gracious explanation, Marcia. I don't feel qualified to

" pick up the torch " at this stage in my education, but I do understand your

not wanting to start that battle again.
