Guest guest
Hi guys, I have a friend in her very early 40's who had a hysterectomy earlier this year, who is not on hormones. I think Vitex would be a good fit for her, but would love feedback. (Especially on the berries vs. leaves form of the EO.) Thanks!, Stacey
Guest guest
Hi Stacey, I have clients who swear by it. I made up sniffies and they have found this stops the hot flushes. I have had more success with the berries rather than the leaves. Guest guest
Hi, I just purchased both berry and leaf and plan to mix them 50/50. I read a while back that the combo worked well so I'm going to give it a try and so is my sis who is having a terrible time with hot flashes. Guest guest
Dear Stacey, Hi there! I have used chaste berry in both the berry and leaf oils, separately as well as together along with the extract/tincture of the chaste berries. I have had very good results with all three of what I just mentioned. I grow chaste berry trees and make my own tinctures and oils with great results. I have not had a hot flash until, persuaded by my dh, went to a bio-identical hormone doctor about 2 months ago. This doc put me on some " bio-identical " formula and presto I started having " hot flashes " that were terrible. One week later I went back to my own natural hormone balancing using chaste berry oil and rose oil. No more hot flashes and no more new bio-doc. So I can tell you that the chaste berry oil, chaste berry leaf oil and the tincture/extracts of chaste berry do work and work exceedingly well. By the way I have been using chaste berry oils in my hormone formulas since about 2000 with great results. Take care and have a great weekend! I hope that this information helps. Guest guest
Sorry this is a bit late but am tied up with all kinds of stuff. >I have a friend in her very early 40's who had a hysterectomy Having a hysterectomy should not cause an early menopause. As periods stop anyway, what makes her think it is menopause? For example, does she have hot flashes, night sweats, etc. All of which can be due to other things. Has her doctor checked hormone levels to confirm menopause? It's never as simple as just giving a herb or oil to treat an unknown condition and potentially dangerous. There are other effective herbs than vitex to treat such conditions. Vitex oils are just hyped by the suppliers with no sound evidence of safety or efficacy. Most of the so called trials are not worth the paper they were published on. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thank you so much for all of your replies re Vitex for early menopause. You're all the best and it is much appreciated! I'm going to take in bottles of the berry and leaf EOs for her to check out. I'm also summarizing all of your replies for her to check out and further research on her own. Thanks again!, Stacey

(They have dramatically different scents, FWIW.) No berry. Does anyone have a drop or two of Vitex Berry EO to send as a sample? If so, please contact me offline at millerslm1 at gmail dot com It would be much appreciated. :-) TIA!, Stacey P.S. Guest guest
Dear Stacey, Send me your address off list and I will send you a sample of chaste berry oil that I made. It smells good and works extremely well. I have been using it for the estrogel induced hot flashes that I was having with great success. No more estrogel from the Bio-identical doctor. I have gone back to my own protocols and I no longer have hot flashes or night sweats and my husband is happier that I am in a happier mood with no mood swings.
