Guest guest
First off, this is NOT directed to anyone on the list, just a general observation. 30 years ago my grandmother who lived in San Francisco and was in the 'rag' trade gave me the paperwork from Romana de Vries. Back at that time 30 years before the paperwork was given to me, Devries had already made a stamp in the beauty and medical industry. Today's 'natural ingredient experts' are repeating as their own idea, Devries's facial herbs, oils and exercise for the muscles of the face. I see copy cats all the time, claiming their 'facial' is their own natural ingredient blend, yeah right! Present day Martha Stewart uses Hints from Heloise tips (1940's - 1950's and to today) and claims them as her own. Plagiarism in full bloom just like a certain animal book writer that took information as her own. When someone finds information to pass on, it is good to see where they got it. Sourcing is great! Guest guest
Yes, and I see this kind of Plagiarism all the time in aromatherapy novels. It's even worse with them because the authors never understood the difference between herbal use and an essential oil. At least in my old perfume and cosmetics books from way back, the writers were well educated in such matters. I have old books with thousands of formulas, very few nowadays are original concoctions. It's all due to the beauty trade, and to an extend the aromatherapy trade, that is packed with people who know next to nothing on their trade and just constantly con the public. The real problem seems to be how easy it is to con the public nowadays. The vast majority believe everything they read in publicity material and in the media. Look at the empire the con artist Gary Young has built as an example.
