Guest guest
hello everyone I am in serious need of brainstorming for a client- we have tried a lot of oil combination over the years for her psoriasis condition, it comes and goes. Lately she is severely stressed with a supervisor she cannot control, so her wrists (like handcuffs!!! or gloves going up arms) have broken out with her usually bumpy/red/itchy/ stuff but this time is worse, aching, swollen and even beginning to crack if she bumps it or scratches in night.....I've tried lots of formulas over the years, the latest with coconut and Calophyllum, all work for a while. I have also convinced her to get back on her self talk tapes, take back her power, etc as well as using the EFT tapping methods to help herself thru this stress.....and wearing gloves at night. I've also suggested some Emotional Release work as well as she tends to hold things in, so nice, everyone loves her, etc.....so has 'swallowed' a lot of pain over the years..... meanwhile does anyone have any suggestions of a new topical formula we may try. Her diet is healthier now, she is on a supervised weight loss program, with nutrients, etc; I see her weekly now for Structural Energetic Therapy bodywork, which is helping her in a lot of other ways, but I cant help feel I have not yet hit on the right combo of oils either for topical application. All suggestions helpful. Guest guest
Hi Sylla, My husband, Al, has suffered from bouts of eczema for over 20 years that is before we discovered what was causing his problems. I made a blend using simply a sorbolene cream base, with added jojoba and rosehipseed oil along with Lavender and Rose Otto. He applies this during flare ups. (Read on as once in a while he gets caught off guard by unsuspecting foods) BUT your client should have allergy testing done. WHY? Well, my husband discovered he had food allergies. Who would have thunk? It was the best $500.00 we ever spent. No, our insurance didn't pay for the Allergy test which was just simply donating about 4-5 vials of blood and having it sent to a lab. It came back with him being highly allergic to 4 foods and dozens of others that contributed too - the worst one of which is corn - Do you have any idea how much corn and corn by products are in everything we eat, drink and are used around the house? Well, he hasn't had any bad flare ups in over 6 years, since once we found out what he was allergic too. He has the most beautiful skin now that he no longer suffers from the red, blistering, itchy, flakey eczema that plagued him for years. So although the cream blend helped, it was only remedied by eliminating the culprit foods. The blend helps to heal him when he does get caught off guard and gets a food that we didn't realize had corn by product in it. Your client may well want to solve the problem too, Allergy testing is a relatively inexpensive diagnostic tool that can help remove years of suffering in the future. Guest guest
Hey Syl . . . Penny has made good suggestions, especially after no success topically for a while. My childhood eczema problems were addressed by eliminating culprit foods . . . wheat, dairy being the worst. Also, getting through puberty seemed to help. There are many new and different skin conditions rearing their ugly heads these days. I do have one suggestion (don't know if you've tried it) . . . Kunzea. It has addressed a difficult to diagnose skin condition that Rob has and keeps it at bay. Also seems to address cellulitis that flares with gout attacks. The amaranth seed CO2 as an additive to lotion or oil formulas also seems to help. Speaking of the corn products . . . and btw, they aren't " by " products anymore, the corn is specifically grown to meeet the specifications for a litany of food additives, as well as for disposable diapers, batteries . . . if you haven't seen the movie King Corn yet, be sure to get it. It's an eye opener. On this theme, watch for Food, Inc. now opening in theatres across the country. Debuted at the Seattle Film Festival this year. Hopefully all these mainstream movies will move us to action to slow the corporate food machine. Guest guest
Hi Sylla, Sorbolene cream is a wonderful moisturizing cream base. It is water loving (a humectant) cream manufactured in Australia. We came across it several years ago and have found it the best cream for anyone that suffers from dry skin. It comes as a thick cream, reminds me of Crisco shortening only its not greasy at all. You can add purified water to it to make it into a lotion. Or add other carrier oils and essential oils for making wonderful healing creams. We sell a lot to folks that are have their hands in the water alot, as although it loves water, it creates a barrier of some sort on the skin and your skin won't dry out like it does when you use regular lotions. AND you only need a small amount like the size of a pea to last for hours. For folks that have sensitive skin to lotions or scenting it has been a god send for them. You can read about it on our site at: http://birchhillhappenings.com/baseprod.htm#cream I do hope your client does seek allergy testing as it is known (as I'm sure you are aware) that the skin is another of our organs where toxins like to be eliminated and in the case of certain types of eczema, especially food allergy induced - the toxins are trying to escape from the body by " boiling " (the bubbling of the skin effect seen in the early eczema flare up) out of through the skin! Hope these suggestions help not only your client but others also! Getting down to the actual cause of a problem can be the best medicine! Penny Your One Stop Aromatherapy Shop!
