Thanks for this Lisa, there's some great information on Dr Pierson's web site.

My own cat is a real pain food wise, she will only eat one brand of

food and only one flavor of that brand! Right now she's buzzing round

me complaining because we ran out of *her* food and dared to get her

some from the local shop..... sigh, she cant half hit with her head -

lol. She'll be like this now till I get to the shop tomorrow and bring

home the food she wants....

Still off topic but talking *wants* - I want Dr Pierson's horses! What

a hansom bunch! (Dr. Pierson's Tall, Dark, and Handsome Men)

Keep well

Liz

I contacted my Japanese research vet about this Young Living pets scam. She

tells me they have the same hogwash being promoted over there. Below is her

reply which you may find of interest.

============================================

Thanks for the information. As I know they formulated products for

dogs and cats, I made several calls to Tokyo office of the Young

Living, and talked with the boss. They always say they have been

asking advice for vets and the vets say EOs create no problems in

animals. They do ask me to provide scientific evidence that EOs are

toxic to cats.

There are several Japanese vets who have been using EOs clinically to

cats saying there is no scientific evidence that EOs are harmful to

cats. Truly regretful I cannot conduct animal experiments using

cats. I once participated a workshop held by them, and I leaned that

all the cats that received EOs during surgery died in two days after

the surgery. They reported three surgery cases in feline species,

and said each operation was successful. The operation was successful,

but the animals did not survive. There was no explanation why all

three cats died. They used 30% Tea Tree Oil to wash the malignant

cells, and explained that the EO caused apoptosis of cancer cells

that they couldn't remove. It was jaw-dropping shock to me, because

among the vets there was a professor of a famous veterinary university.

As you know, I am writing serial articles in a vet magazine which is

very scientific. I am writing messages to these vets, and Young

Living especially. Recent research revealed that the cats lack not

only the 2nd phase metabolizing enzymes, but they lack 1st phase

liver enzymes as well, and their glucronidation (detoxifying) ability

is 1/6 to 1/10 weaker than other animal species. I am going to

provide scientific evidence to them in this scientific magazine. I

am sure they will be sued by cat owners in the near future.

Just to clarify.

Dr Pierson's web site http://www.catinfo.org/index.htm (the link in

Lisa's mail) has no mention at all of either essential oils or YL.

It is concerned with cat's diets, particularly addressing obesity and

its link to feeding dried cat food.

I specifically changed the subject to *O/T now Cats* on this mail to

separate it from the previous thread on YL.
