Hey Butch . . . since I was on idma since its early beginnings, just wanted

to remind folks that there was a great deal of learning there (sometimes we

forget) . . . maybe some of it started tentatively with misinformation, but

eventually it weeded out, as educational explorations usually do. I would

venture that there was as much good info as bad and maybe it was even tipped

to the better of the two. Doesn't make up for all the misinformation still

remaining in print or on individual websites, however. I especially wanted

to remind people that the seeds for AGORA began there, with Michel's lovely

vision and a healthy, creative collaboration of many of us around the world.

This was in keeping with the spirit of the world wide web and the internet.

That endeavor still prevails with a lot of solid information, much of it

from folks here . . . No, idma wasn't moderated, but I don't think that

was such a bad thing; IOW, if you paid attention, you usually ended up with

pretty accurate info, or at least the ability to make up your own mind about

contentious ideas.

 

And, it was the place where YL was first exposed; I saved all the posts and

organized them, passing them on to Graham as a zipfile and he made the YL

pages website. Hundreds of posts, there were.

 

So, 'tweren't all bad.

 

And, the reason Gary Young is in SA is that there were so many lawsuits

pending from folks who got suckered into his Utah clinic (guy just can't

seem to keep from pretending he's a doc and opening clinics) that he was

forced to flee the US to avoid prosecution . . . AGAIN! Don't know if

anyone's taken time to trace the true origins of this new degree of his . .

.. but, you can bet it isn't a legit one, as you point out. I have heard

through the grapevine that he has actually sold Young Living (the

corporation) . . . but of course the success is based on all the lies about

him, so it goes on and on and on . . .

Howdy Sue, Kathleen .. other good folks ..

 

IDMA was the first News Group I ever joined .. right after getting into the

business in 1995. I was in Turkey at the time .. a place where kindness

and courtesy is demanded and practiced .. and I well recall the knock down

and drag out posts that were common on IDMA. The group was not moderated

... that is, except that folks took sides and even then there were some

curmudgeons who just didn't get the message when 98% of the posts were agin

their behavior. ;-)

 

True it was that there was a lot of learning on IDMA .. but looking back I

now understand that some of that learning would be better classified as

misinformation .. and often the egos of some who had a good amount of

knowledge caused them to not be listened to .. while the charisma of some

who knew not their butt from a hole in the ground found eager listeners.

Gary Young has been in the pokey more than once .. but odds are against him

being locked away for long because following warnings by the FDA and FCC,

the Young Living organization has pretty much protected themselves by

publicly and For The Record telling their folks not to make false claims ..

while having their flunkies in the Up Line tell them differently in their on

and off line commo as well as in their private meetings.

 

But .. as I understand it GY is sorta locked out of the U.S.A. now .. or at

least he has chosen to remain in South America and it is reported that he

had been able to purchase a real university diploma this time .. one that

says he is a Doctor.

Just got to chip in here now my broadband has decided to work again after nearly

a week without it. Just a reminder for those who don't know. There is an edited

version of the Young Living files on my website among the articles. It is early

stuff but very relevant.

 

I still get people asking me about YL oils as, " they have been told by a

respected therapist that they are good " . My answer is that although I now have

no idea on their quality, I would not wish to deal with anyone who buys from an

organisation founded on nothing but lies. Even if Gary sells the company, it

still trades under the name of a lying cheating dangerous confidence trickster.

No amount of marketing whitewash can clean that organisation up, and that holds

good for the other mob who left to setup up their own scam operation.
