Guest guest
Hi there I missed your first post for pain releiving oils/blends and I had to go look up fybromyalga because it's not a condition I was familiar with. If I had a client with this condition I would make up the following blend with your base oil your already using 3 drops frankincense for calming properties 2 drops Jasmin for anti depressant deeply penetrating warming and emotionally comforting action. 1 drop tee tree for it's immuno stimulating action 4 drops Pettigrain for insomnia and  antidepresant action 4 drops Juniper berry for detoxification 3 drops Grapefruit for detoxification, antideprresant and mentally enlivening properties. All descriptions are taken from Patricia Davies Aromatherapy an A-Z I would advise not use this blend for more than 4 days at a time and I would alternate it with a totally different blend to allow the body to process the oils used and also bear in mind that most citrus oils are phototoxic. Guest guest
Carol, The suggested blend of oils from the novel you refer to may have a relaxing effect, but the descriptions of some of them are crazy. >1 drop tee tree for it's immuno stimulating action No evidence for that claim. >4 drops Juniper berry for detoxification Complete hogwash. >3 drops Grapefruit for detoxification Even more complete and utter hogwash. Typical of many aromatherapy sources and 100% unjustified. No essential oil externally applied can have that action as they are not absorbed into the body in sufficient volume. It is all corruptions of herbal medicine. Only methyl salicylate based oils might be absorbed but they are very dangerous. Guest guest
OK Mr. Martin Watt, I know is terrible dangerous to contradict you, but I will dare. So except the " hogwash " text , do you have anything positive to add to the discussion??? Probably this person tries to ask for help (many do in an honest way). How about you offers something productive and positive in exchange. I am in this group not for long and I have not read anything positive from you as a " guru " of the group. Yes I am sarcastic right now. I am not a corporation and I do not try to advertise anything...but I want you to produce something good for this people in this group (apparently they are so dedicated and believers in your knowledge). How about helping this lady with some ideas? " Hogwash " we hear a lot! And yeah, I do believe you will be so “kind” to eliminate me from this group… big deal. I did not learn nothing and it is a waist of time anyway. Be more positive and try and help these people. If your knowledge is large (which I think it actually is) share it and be more humble for a change. Ciao to all PS I am waiting do be eaten up and digested now! Guest guest
Sheesh! What Bug flew up YOUR Butt Lavinia? Talk about a negative post. At least Martin DID offer something constructive to the conversation. Most AT books ARE full of falicies and if you are a newby to the subject, you won't know this. While Martin's style of writing is not all hearts and flowers, when he does add something to the conversation it is at least worth hearing. Also, it's not his (or anyone's ) job to " teach " you anything. There ARE resources out there and darn good ones, (including Martin's set) and if one asks, one will get the help. Then you can learn it for yourself. So sorry this list is a waste of time for you. Perhaps if you had something to contribute instead of a critical, sarcastic, insulting note, it would be more interesting for you. I noticed you had nothing to add either towards what might work on fibromyaligic pain. Okay, with that off my chest, I'm off to Reno for some fun! Guest guest
For your information, it is illegal in the UK for anyone to provide the kind of information on health problems requested by that poster, unless the person is present in person. That is why I have to be very careful in what advice I give. Many people have had help from me over the years but often on a private communication basis. Are you suggesting that if I know something is wrong or dangerous that i do not say so? That is why I have nothing to do with other newsgroups because they insist on everyone being " nice " the very reason this industry is flooded with hogwash. Martin Watt - a Guru is an Indian teacher/spiritual leader, I am not Indian or a spiritual leader.
