Guest guest
Hello Lisa. > The president really sets the tone for the country. > Perhaps you are correct .. but I think its more accurate to say that the president sets the tone of the government agencies that report directly to the Executive Branch. > For the past 8+ years we've had a disreputable tone of toxic stupidity > and disregard for the sanctity of human life. > There are obviously many who will disagree with you .. including me .. and when I posted my note I intentionally avoided getting into personalities of the players and sticking to the impact of actions. If we are to get into regard for the sanctity of human life we must decide if the life of those who wish to do us harm is on more value than our own .. and consider that we have not experienced another major attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. Even the most vocal Bush critics in Congress were wise enough to NOT ASK how this was accomplished. As for me .. when it comes to those who would do harm to me and mine .. the lives of me and mine will always be more valuable than those of he and his. We might also want to consider another very controversal subject regarding sanctity of human life .. wholesale abortion on demand. > Now, Pres O is, at least, transforming the national intellectual/ > spiritual undercurrent to one of dignity, reason, and service. > I believe it is too soon to know this .. the man has not even been in office a week. He deserves his honeymoon . .though it might be a short one. To criticize or praise the man now will put some of those who do so in a position of having to eat a bit of crow later down the road. ;-) > Lisa > Good luck to our new President and to all of us. :-) Butch PS: If I was in the position that President Obama finds himself in now .. I would be requesting a recount. ;-)
Guest guest
>Good luck to our new President and to all of us. :-) Butch A president is someone who is the The chief executive of an organisation and who like a chairman, has to confer with a committee before making decisions. A King is someone who can make and implement decisions overriding the opinions of the rest of society and elected representatives. In my opinion, America has always had a substitute King including all the utter hysteria surrounding their coronation. Only thing missing from your coronation was a crown!
