Guest guest
Dear Chris, Here in Florida, I have just (before the sun truly rose) picked the herbs to start drying that will wilt and disappear in our summer humidity. The oregano is flowering profusely and, dried, will be used for tea, seasoning and for my hand made salves. The thyme is holding on and I will harvest it a little later before it curls up in the heat. The lavender is starting to flower but is already showing signs of its summer stress - I hope to get some good blooms this year. But the rest of the herbs (about 60 odd) are thriving and welcoming the 80 + temps......................but I will now chuck out the old stocks (if any) now that the sun has risen and inside is cooler....and do a " spring clean " and see if I need to order anything for the summer............perhaps we are all out in the gardens now??.....and playing with our herbs?......Herbally Yours Penny. Guest guest
I've been keeping up with all the work for Midwives on Missions of Service. I thought when I retired that I would have plenty of time. Hah! I didn't know I'd signed up for a full-time job again! I spend time working on the curricula for the distance learning program and for our program in Sierra Leone. And I manage the students in the distance program. And I raise awareness and money for the work in Sierra Leone. Keeps me busy....
