Let's not forget our Liz, too! She just had a birthday a few days ago! And yes, this year has been full of good changes... to go from high heels and suits on the 18th floor in my BID Council internship all the way to working in flips and tees at IPSB College was pretty sweet! www.ipsb.edu While I'm here, a big welcome to all our newest ATFE members. I'm glad you found us. Please feel free to poke around the archives and ask any questions or post any thoughts you might have. Ta, Stacey P.S. Am I just being stubborn by refusing to have any services done in a salon that offers Raindrop? (I seriously need a cut and color this weekend and one of the nice salons nearby also offers RDT on their menu... I sort of feel I should give them a chance since their hair skills have nothing to do with anything else, right?) P.P.S. Here's the White Page on RDT for anyone not familiar with it! http://www.aromaticsage.com/WhitePaper.htm
Guest guest
Stacey, JMHO, but I don't think you're being stubborn refusing to patronize a salon that you know to have questionable practices. True, you're not going for an RDT session, but what else may have rubbed off whoever taught the RDT technique onto how other services are performed? Me? I'd steer my fat butt right away from there. There's dozens of talented colorists who know better than to dribble volatile chemicals all over someone's bare back. The analogy of dribbling caustic hair color down a client's back is quite fitting, actually. That's essentially what MT's and their equivalents are practicing when they choose to perform RDT. I think what's tempering me now and preventing me from characteristically baring my teeth is having met a few YL'ers who appear to be oblivious to the very real issues and hardships that Young Living present the rest of us in the community. It's also been more complicated ever since bodywork practitioners have become more savvy and started offering diluted Raindrop in an effort to cash in. (A great thing overall since diluted oils on the skin are much safer and less to rail against. Right?) Too bad we don't know who is who and who is offering which service for sure. While I am here... ARC, do you still exist? If so, do you still offer the 'registration' of " aromatherapists " such as David " Raindrop " Stewart to anyone who can afford your fees? If so, how do any of you sleep at night? :-P Night, Stacey
