Hi all,

I have received 2 unsolicitated invitations from other ,

similar in nature to groups I already belong to. The most recent one

was today. Am I the only one receiving these invitations? Should I

just delete the invite? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hugs,

Buffy

Hi Buffy

This is not harvesting in the *spammer* sence, its actually a feature.

permits an owner to Invite people to their group and provided an

*invite* button that opens an email for the owner/mod to insert the

email address they want to invite. The feature is limited to so many

invites per day. Its to allow owner/mods to promote their group to

people (usually from similar groups) who they feel may like the new

group as well.

If you are not interested in the new group just delete the invite.

PS

I forgot to add that although they dont have to, its concidered

etiquette to ask the owner of the existing group if its OK to send

invites to their members! The owner may then also promote the new

group on list (so they hit a wide audience) - or not, as the case may

be. For instance, we would be happy to promote other similar AT lists

(lists are not a competition!) but not happy to promote MLM'ers. Its

about who you want to associate/be associated with, and asking first

is more likely to produce a friendly response......<note to whoever is

using our list there!!>

I didn't see this before I responded. Thanks for explaining. It is getting

annoying to get so many though.
