Guest guest
I wrote them an email saying I was disappointed they were carrying YL EOs, and got no response, and noticed they're continuing to offer " free " workshops on how to use them. So I just mailed them Marge's website page on the Lakota fraud. I doubt they'll care though, but I can't hep putting it out there to them. It's really cheesy of them to be carrying YL oils when there are truly passionate, dedicated distributors like Marge and others on this list they could/should be buying from. I mean, I'm certainly not perfect, and don't normally like to tell people how to run their business, but I've enjoyed this store since the 80s and find it sad that they would carry an unethical MLM product line. Guest guest
Well the point is they may not have the same values as you. Which. Hey they are in business to make money, and can you fault them if they are buying the eos from YL.. I definitely couldn't they need to make their bottom line. They have people that depend on that store to pay their bills. And honestly... It would be nice to see people like Marge and Butch in those stores, but the point is that Butch and Marge and other people like that have to be willing to deal with the " rule makers " and follow the guidelines that even though they may not like them and even they may be a pain in the tukus. Until we get to the top we have to do things the way that will open the door for us. It's not easy doing things the way we do, but there can be a balance. We can find a way to use that which we have in a more creative way, create a niche market, or we can go to our deaths whining about " It's not fair " .. (I apologize if this sets anyone off as it is not meant to.) I love you all and I think if we work smarter not harder we can actually end up being the ones on top, but it will take some creative maneuvers. jennifer. Guest guest
Well, it they were concerned about their bottom line, they could certainly find cheaper sources. I suspect someone there is too lazy to be bothered to find a cheaper (and better) source. Guest guest
Maybe they don't know or have a loving family member " sucked " in by YL and they are trying to help that loved one out of a tight spot... I could sit here all night and come up with scenarios, but until I could go up there and ask them and be completely inquisitive without being judgmental I will never really know. I ask all of our health stores about their choices because I just want to know.. Speaking of which I have to go to the health food store tomorrow. Kathleen thanks for reminding me. (I love the way these things work out ..) he he he he. Of course every business needs to make its 'bottom line'...or else it become an expensive hobby. However...after visitin the East West website... I rather suspect that they may have been taken in by some of the YL hype.. the 'used by the egyptians, and the Magi brought EO's to the Christ child, etc. The shop seems to be trying to emphasize /concentrate on a 'spiritual' 'new age' clientelle. And some of the YL marketing could certainly fit right in there. I'm really confused by your response tho.. about butch and I being willing to deal with the " rule makers " and follow the guidelines. I'm not sure which rulemakers you are talking about... >Until we get to the top we have to do things the way that will open the >door for us. and that hasn't been my experience... of course 'getting to the top' has never been a goal of mine (nor, I suspect, of Butch's) >It's not easy doing things the way we do, but there can be a balance. I haven't heard anyone whining " it's not fair'... I heard Lisa being disappointed that a store she respects and enjoys seems to have been taken in by a master merchandiser's help. >but I've enjoyed this >store since the 80s and find it sad that they would carry an unethical >MLM product line. not whining... disagreeing with/being disappointed by their choices, perhaps. And I think that those of us who have been around awhile HAVE created or found our proper niches...or we would not still be here. (back to the 'expensive hobby' comment I made earlier.) A friend of mine was in another MLM selling supplements for many years working day and night developing her line. She started making about $3,000/mo. Then someone in the company related to the founders simply took over her stuff and moved her out. She talked to lawyers and did everything she could but in the long run ended up with nothing to show for all those years of work. I don't believe it's uncommon for people ultimately to get ripped off by network/pyramid biz's. And they keep the prices high regardless of the quality of the product. I wouldn't even look for cheaper EOs, I'd look for ethical ones. But I don't want to belabor this point either. Gary Young isn't the first person to exploit GF Black Elk nor the first person to create an empire that a lot of people love and a lot of people believe is corrupt. I don't really want to be some busybody telling them their products stink, either. I was just sad to see it b/c I try to promote socially conscious businesses when I write product reviews. And I choose little cafes over fast food franchises, so if EW wants to have the McDonalds of EOs, I won't buy them there, but it won't take them long to have 1mil served without me.
