Guest guest
Hi List, Wow, with a total of 12 people voting, we ended up with a whopping 75% of voters who believe they are sensitive in one way or another. If this holds muster for the greater AT community, can anyone think of ideal ways to use this info? Cheers, Christina
Guest guest
Christina, Unfortunately, I don't think you can use these results as anything meaningful. I'm not at all a mathematician/statistician (far from it) but you just can't extrapolate these results to the greater AT or any other community. Common sense dictates that to begin with you'd have to at least look at the number of this listserve rs, calculate the percentage of them that chose to participate in the poll and then figure out why the rest of the rs did not participate in the poll. What you do with statistical analysis of these numbers I won't know, sorry. I can only tell for myself why I decided not to participate in the poll. It's because the question contained the " desired " , obvious answer. What does it mean, and how do you feel about saying " no " to the poll question, especially since the word " sensitive " was nowhere defined? Does it mean I'm not sensitive to anything, or to something in particular? It appears to me that the question was devised to produce a " yes " answer, or at least a discussion on what the word " sensitive " means. But I decided that the subject was too general to broach, and the askers of the question didn't quite appear to know what they were trying to find out, so I chose not to answer it at all. I'd be surprised if am the only one. Just my two cents worth. Guest guest
Nika, Thanks for your response. It's good to better understand your own shortcomings - and I am inclined to put my own opinion slap-dash right into the polls. Your well-written response clearly shows that you considered responding before choosing to not do so. Please let me know if you have time to help write a poll or two. Someone who can be less partial may be able to appeal to more responders. The request is a general one to the list-at-large, as well. If you'd like to contribute an idea for a poll, or a question, please send it on in. Guest guest
Christina, I certainly didn't mean to criticize you personally. I really hope you didn't take any offense. If you did, I apologize profusely, that was not at all my intention. I'll be very happy to help in any way I can, poll or no poll. Just drop me a line, I'm at my computer most of the day. My head is your head. ) Cheers, Nika Christina M wrote: >Nika, > >Thanks for your response. Guest guest
Hi Nika, No offense taken at all. Your post rang true, and I am not above admitting my faults. We all have them. I really do appreciate the offer of help, and I'll check with you off-list. Again, everyone is welcome to submit ideas for future polls. Cheers, Christina
Guest guest
I didn't understand how it was worded and I was gonna post something to that effect and got distracted by something else. I really don't know what I am at the moment anyway so I don't think I could have answered accurately. Michele ATFE2 , " Christina M " <BodyAmbrosia wrote: > > Hi Nika, > > No offense taken at all. Guest guest
Have to admit I didn't reply to this one. Would have had to vote " Hell NO! I'm not sensitive to anything except dry skin. " I found it a little too " twilight zone " for me. Not that I'm ground in reality and not that I don't believe that some folk are a little " sensitive " to woooo-ooooh things (after all, my mother can feel ghosts etc.), it just " uncomfortable " to lump it in with aromatherapy. For me. K > > -- Kathleen Petrides Bead Hussy http://www.BeadHussy.com
Guest guest
Oh. See, I took it very literal. lol! Guess that's an aspie for you. I have sensory intigration disorder, so I am ultra sensitive to smells, sounds, and feels. That's why I voted " yes " . :-) Tracy --\ ------------- My e-mail is changing to decemberroses Designer at Scrapbook-Bytes http://www.takeapick.com/2IH *Some people only dream of angels; we held one in our arms.* Remembering Jacob March 8 - 9, 1996 Our Angel: http://sids-network.org/fp/jacob.htm - " Kathleen Petrides " <Beadhussy <ATFE2 > Saturday, June 14, 2008 11:57 AM Re: [ATFE2] Re: Poll results - We Are a Sensitive Group! > Have to admit I didn't reply to this one.
