Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I had a really interesting discussion at our oil evening the other night and it has got me thinking. We were talking about how with aromatherapy; we have everyday little miracles that may not mean much to some people, but so much to others. Someone said that a lady came to her and during the session, she mentioned that she loved cooking lovely meals for her husband, but he had such bad nasal congestion that he could not smell the cooking aromas. Paula made up an inhalant for him using pine, and it cleared his nose, and yes, he could smell her meals. Now, this was not a big thing to many, but so much to that lady. Sometimes it is the little stories that stand out, I thought about this one for days. Would love to hear some more of these stories. Cheers Jeanine
Guest guest
Last year, I was at the AT conference and while our conference room was smelling awfully good, I began to have an allergy attack from I think this Orange spray that Christina had sprayed. Well we all sat down were beginning the meeting and I was sneezing away (disrupting the meeting) and Rhavda went into her little case of magic oils and next thing I know she stuck a cotton ball in my ear and she said something about it had lavender and something else but I was so miserable at that point I didn't hear a word she said, but she said within a half an hour I would stop sneezing and indeed within a half an hour, I had stopped sneezing. I'd like to know what the heck she stuck in my ear. Where is Rhavda these days? Guest guest
Dear Michele, I've been busy with a number of things going on from harvesting roses and herbs to having our house hit by lightning on May 6th and then a week ago having a sudden flood in one of our bathrooms. Needless to say I have been busy. The lightning strike took out 1 computer, 2 printers, 3 surge protectors, our garage door, the kitchen vent-a-hood light and fan, 3 plugs and about 8 phones all on power supplies, 3 caller ids, and 3 answering machines along with the entire satellite tv system. I'm still finding things that have to be replaced. I'me also working on putting up 2 new web sites for me and becoming part of someone else's webb site. I will continue teaching AT this fall at one of our local colleges and try to finish my second AT mystery novel. Then I may get to slow down some. At the conference last August I put Lavender, Rosemary, and Peppermint on the cotton balls to help you. I got that information in the mid-80's from Maggie Tisserand's book, Aromatherapy for Women, and I have used it ever since to help people. It sounds strange when you say put a small amount of each eo on a cotton ball and stick it in your ear but it works for a number of hours and does it job. I reared my son using this for his allergies. He still gives me strange looks when I tell him to do it but he does do it and has less problems. I'm glad to know that you still use it and that it helped you. Take care of yourself. It is nice to know that you still use my little cotton ball trick for allergies and headaches. Guest guest
Thanks, Rhavda, for chipping in.... Michele, I sure hope I didn't give you any troubles with my spray bottle. My allergies were on high alert, as we were trying to do AT in a mouldy room. Really, really mouldy. But I am glad that didn't come through much. We won't have those troubles at our next event.....but I don't promise to leave my spray bottle at home. Cheers, Christina
Guest guest
Dang it, Rhavda, I was having a little pep and get up and go and reading your post just sent me back to bed. Sorry to hear about your lightening strike. So much for your surge protectors, huh? I'll drop you an e-mail soon. I still drink that Earl Grey with the Rose syrup to take the edge off my moods. Gotta go get me some rose syrup this week. Take care of yourself and don't run yourself ragged. Guest guest
No, it didn't. It was a combo of things, I forgot it was moldy down there and damp, and any kind of intense new fragrance will set my nose off. Like my room, All I have to do is spray something or smell something the wrong way and it can set my allergies off, like my cilia are saying " hey wait, we weren't ready yet! " It can be anything at anytime. I have the strangest nose. One day something could bother me and the next day it won't. But once it goes, it won't stop. But this time, you won't have to bring anything, just go in my room and whip something up. No worries, it's all good. Guest guest
Michele, With a nose like that, it figures you found aromatherapy. Seems like there are a lot of people with sensitivities of one kind or another that eventually find EO's. I'll include myself in that category. Okay, I'll bring some tea and leave the Orange Spray at home. Cheers, Christina
