Guest guest
Hi all, Was wondering if there might be an EO that has a connection with kidney stones. Any research to what might be helpful in preventing them, especially for folks who've had one? I'm open to info on any other complimentary or alternative therapies as well. (like how I listed both. lol) Thanks for any info. Guest guest
It all depends on how someone is going to use the essential oil. I am not aware of any research where oils used externally have any effect on a kidney stone. It is ludicrous to suggest so, but I have seen this crazy information in aromatherapy books. Some claim certain oils taken orally have this effect but I am highly skeptical. There is traditional herbal medicine where regularly taken it might have an effect at reducing a stone, butI am not aware of any sound evidence that you can dissolve such a solid mass by any means other than ultra sound or surgery. Guest guest
Hi Margaret, Wow, you didn't say if you are the person suffering with stones, and if you are, I feel for you! I recently passed a kidney stone -- not my favorite thing to do, but during the worst of it I spent quite a lot of time in a warm sitz bath with a few drops of lavender oil to ease the spasms. A very knowledgable friend suggested that I apply a warm compress over the affected area with oils of geranium, myrrh and celery seed blended into castor oil. It helped tremendously. I'd love to hear your feedback, one way or the other. Good luck! Lisa Terralumina ATFE2 , mohea wrote: Was wondering if there might be an EO that has a connection with kidney stones.
