Guest guest Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 Last weekend I attended a Natural Health Expo, it was interesting to note all the different therapies, and new ‘wonder remedies’ for old age, aches, pains, virility etc!. Two things really stood out. One was a seminar on marketing your business, in which the presenter said that a lot of therapists don’t like to charge for ‘their gift from Spirit’, his reply was that we should charge for our time not our gift. Very inspiring speaker! The other thing that attracted me was gorgeous golden coloured jojoba oil from Australia. The gentleman was telling me that his company had checked out numerous jojoba plants and settled on 5 types from Israel. Not only was the oil marvellous, he was saying that years ago when the early settlers cut down all the sandalwood growing in Western Australia to plant wheat, the salt table rose and left tracts of land useless. Now the jojoba, as well as the plantations of Jam Wattles with the Sandalwood growing parasitically are helping to lower the salt table as well. The stand also had roasted jojoba beans, of which I did partake more than my share, and they also grind up the beans for a body exfoliant. What a versatile plant! I thought this was very interesting. Found the Wikipeadia entry for it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jojoba_oil I never knew the nuts were roasted to eat as well. Thanks for the info.
