Guest guest
As I mentioned in my previous note, no three people can agree on what " aromatherapy " is, so what is it? Is it just the application of oils? Is it just the sniffing of oils? Is it both? What about (crap! what's the word....starts with an " a " .... resembles pommades... CRAP... it will come to me, durn brain has switched off again) and CO2's. And all those soaps and creams and perfumes made with only oils, are they aromatherapy? How about oils shoved up your backside, applied to the feet or ingested? Is that aromatherapy or is it just wishful thinking and airy fairy stuff? How much of Aromatherapy is spiritual and how much of it is just practical? Does spirituality belong in the practice of Aromatherapy or should it be kept separate? When does the definiton of " being a whacked out fruit cake " become applicable or does it (I personally, think it does)? And lastly, how many friends and family think you are a whacked out fruit cake and dabbling in airy fairy stuff. I know I'm pretty lucky, my father is the only one who's willing to tell me to my face that I'm nutz, aromatherapy is snake oil and I'ma whacked out fruit cake. Guest guest
Hey Liz who rattled my cage? Guess that would be Butch and Christina, plus my own tendency to ge a wild hair up my butt from time to time. I too am interested to see what people have to say what they think aromatherapy is. If they have a set definition in their head or just a general opinion. As it has been pointed out many times, there is no set definition that anyone can agree on. So I " m curious to hear what others think... And... the other thing is, I'm curious to see if anyone falls in my general idea of what it is or if I " m a totally whacked out fruit cake. ;-) K On Sat, May 10, 2008 at 2:39 PM, Liz <liztams wrote: > . > > > -- Kathleen Petrides Bead Hussy http://www.BeadHussy.com
Guest guest
Dear Fellow Wacked Out Fruitcakes - Hey, Kathleen, Cage-rattler here...... >>>....how many friends and family think you are a whacked out fruit cake and dabbling in airy fairy stuff..............<<< Want the whole list, or just the ones that roll their eyes when a bottle comes out? Lol. So I work at a pretty traditional company. When I spray orange oil or one of my spritzers around, I get a blend of comments from " Ahhhh " , and " Refreshing! " to " You're trying to kill me " . My favorite is " That's fake, how can you infect my environment like that? " Naturally, that last one comes from someone who shops at a well known Bath and Body store, for Peach lotion. 'nuff said. There have been so many happy AT accidents at the office, too. Like the day we had a dessert social in the room where I accidentally spilled a heap of coco absolute. That was the best smelling chocolate cake we ever got. My family was pretty skeptical of AT at first, though I've used it to help each of them, and they are outright appreciative of it now. Cheers, Christina
