Hi Lisa

Glad to have you here.

I like the way you say

" ....this is my reality and I don't necessarily expect anyone else to

to it.... " because we all find different methods of working

with oils. As long as they are used safely we can all have our own

thoughts on *how* they work. :-) Me included.

There is a very real spiritual side to working with oils, but (for me)

they are more a tool on the way to spiritual exploration (in the same

way as crystals are) rather than a living entity. I do find that at

particular times I will be drawn to an oil quite inexplicably, and

sometimes it will be an oil I dont actually like! In my case I feel

its more my own intuition at work rather than an oil speaking to me.

But thats just me. :-)

Intuition - or self selection as its called when used with animals -

is so subtle we some times miss it but (again for me) it has a real

role to play in what I use.

It seems we both work in similar ways, but use different terminology

to explain things :-)

A have a practical nature, I like to know how things work (blew the

windows out of two computers trying to figure out how they do what

they do!) but one thing I cant figure out is our brains and the

dormant areas that are still so unexplored and unaccountable. I like

to think that's its in these areas that *intuition* lurks and - if we

listen to ourselves - pops up to help us when needed.

Because of my practical side I cant go with the lifeblood theory.

When you consider how oils are produced, the end result can only be

sterile liquid (till exposed to air that is) with no life left. But -

like you say - if it works for you then thats great.

As long as we remember that EO's are really small bottles of chemicals

that have the potential to harm as well as heal, and take safety

issues into account when using them, I dont get hung up on terminology

:-)

Welcome to the list!

Hi Liz,

You have summed this up perfectly for me!

There is a very real spiritual side to working with oils, but (for me)

they are more a tool on the way to spiritual exploration (in the same

way as crystals are) rather than a living entity.

I also recall a saying I read somewhere.

“The greater my knowledge, the better my intuition”

Cheers
