Guest guest
I found this on the web just now. Can someone offer a comment? Maybe it's the best place for me to start. I want to find a blend for myself that I can apply externally on my belly. I like that idea and I can also get my husband involved. http://www.homemakingcottage.com/family/mother/eo_preconception.htm ILANA xoxo Ilana Grostern wrote: > Can anyone give me any information about essential oils for fertility? > I'm not sure where to start looking for this information. > > Thanks, > ILANA xoxo >

Guest guest
I looked this up in my Illustrated Encyclopedia of healing remedies. Rose EO: "increases sperm count and quality"... also an aphrodisiac Geranium and Melissa EO: used in the bath Chamomile and Lavender if you are stressed about it. Also ylang-ylang used in bed I personally can't stand the smell of ylang ylang. A lot of the things about fertility I have encountered talk about aphrodisiacs. This is a highly individual thing... Vanilla is my favorite, though it isn't listed in a lot of sources. Oh well! Whatever works. Ilana Grostern <ilana wrote: Oh, that's too bad! I HATE patchouli. I had a boyfriend once who wore that and now I can't disassociate the smell :)I'll look into the musk, though. Thanks Suzi! Someone started talking to me about essential oils and something in me just went ah, yes, that's for me!ILANA xoxoSuzanne Nottmeier wrote:> I believe musk and patchouli are 2.> Suzi>> Ilana Grostern wrote:>> Can anyone give me any information about essential oils for> fertility?> I'm not sure where to start looking for this information.>> Thanks,> ILANA xoxo>>>>>
Guest guest
that source didn't but I know that rose balances hormones and helps when there are emotionaly difficulties because of it. And topically it helps keep the skin soft and radiant by drawing a minor amount of moisture to the skin. the victorians included it in a lot of their cold cream recipesIlana Grostern <ilana wrote: That all sounds just about perfect for us! Does it say other stuff about rose because I read about it being the ultimate feminine EO.I"m going to discuss it today with my homeopath. I don't know if she knows about this stuff but she knows Bach Flowers and maybe it's one of her interests as well.I don't think I mind ylang-ylang, actually. I had a Druide bath gel that smelled of it and it was quite nice. I can't do vanilla, though. I don't like food smells. Thanks Katherine!ILANA xoxoKatherine Huether wrote:> I looked this up in my Illustrated Encyclopedia of healing remedies.> > Rose EO: "increases sperm count and quality"... also an aphrodisiac> > Geranium and Melissa EO: used in the bath> > Chamomile and Lavender if you are stressed about it.> > Also ylang-ylang used in bed > > I personally can't stand the smell of ylang ylang. Dear Angel, My *humble* opinion? Sure, my company! LOL....(well that's my opinion)...because I know where my oils come from and how and where and by whom exactly they are tested, distillation dates, etc...there are others too ;-) I went into this business to get the highest quality...period. I rarely buy from other people who sell retail...just on occasion for something special or something I don't want to carry. Just like with good wine- there is not just one good company....although you may come to love the wine from one winery and you may love the oils from one company. Here...I obviously have a bias BUT..there is a CRITERIA for quality regardless of where you buy. 1. Buy only organic essential oils or in some cases wild grown 2 KNOW exactly what you need and what you are buying- look for the LATIN name so you buy correctly- or you could easily end up with something called Chamomile that is NOT!! 3. Buy tested oils- oils that are GC tested by a third party lab 4. Buy oils that come from a reliable source 5. Buy from someone who will offer you the best and most personal customer service 6. Stay away from MLM's. They rely on hype and LIES regarding their products and are only promoted by their own distributors who are fed they hype and lies and taught not to listen to the opinons of others outside the companies. 7. STUDY! Go to the library and read all you can. There us a ton of misinformation and information based on herbs not oils...so really do your homework...there is a lifetime of learning - at least on the topic. 8. Do not look for cheap oils...look for quality and a fair market price. 9. Buy only from someone concerned about SAFETY. Learn on your own what is safe- this takes time and there is a range of opinion and folklore about the topic. I buy from the finest distillers/sources internationally and sell a line that I think is impeccable regardless of how what I sell may vary over time. Others may do the same- so it's best you learn about the criteria. Most of what is on the market is garbage. Don't buy oils that are " fragrance oils " or poor quality/cheap for non therapeutic use. If you are shopping at the Health Foods Store and want a name- SIMPLERS is the best I have seen as of yet. Still top top of the line across the line and a little inflated for price given that...but still MUCH better than the others. Also, Aura Cacia has a small line of organics that's ok as long as it has not been on the shelf too long....and that is the main reason I do not but from stores like health food stores...there is no way to know how fresh it is generally. Good luck and happy sniffing.... ;-) Elizabeth
Guest guest
....Sorry...typo below...here I meant to say Simplers is NOT top of the line but the best of what I have seen offered in a HFS- STILL...you MUST read the fine print...their Helichrysum is not from Corsica- don't compare it to one that is...etc...read the labels read the LATIN- the common name does not mean a thing. Or buy from a very good aromatherapist in your area who can make you the blends you need... and, don't forget PREGNANCY safety. Guest guest
EO's are verboten for cats. This is according to animal holistic lists, breeders, and pet owners. They are not safe to use for the kitties. Denise www.Jmichaelstyle.com
Guest guest
It depends on if you are forcing the oil on the cat or allowing the cat to choose. Any animal you force herbs/oils on will be toxic. Animals do still have their innate intelligence to know what's right for them if given the chance to choose. Of all the cases I've seen where it has been toxic to a cat or otherwise the animal was not given the choice nor a way out. The animal must always have fresh water and a way leave the area where the oils are. If administered to the body, it should only be done by a trained professional. Guest guest
Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone can suggest a wholesaler of quality essential oils. I use EO's for personal use but also for the addition to my natural soaps I make. I am looking forward to reading the responses.. Have a great day! Guest guest
HI, everyone...have not been on and am a little lost... Anyway...saw the postings on here about essential oils. I have to say I use them every day, and only can use the therapeutic grade ones. I am super sensistive, have fibromyalgia and IBS and asthma, diabetes, etc. and have had great success. You simply dilute a 'hot' or 'strong' oil with a carrier oil (even olive oil). This is if it is the GOOD oils...skip the health food and dollar stores! Go online for therapeutic grade and read carefully! Well, that is my two cents! I will keep reading...this group is super interesting! Glad to see you here....but I need to jump in on one statement above (suspect I won't be the only one.) you don't just dilute the 'hot' or 'strong' oils in a carrier... you dilute EVERY oil if you are going to use it on the skin. There are several people on this list sensitized to LAVENDER... the one oil almost everyone says is safe to use undiluted... from unwise neat usage. EVERY essential oil should be diluted for topical use. Those who recommend neat usage are, in the most part, just aware that if you use the oils neat, you'll go through them a lot faster and have to restock more often. It is NOT to any vendors best interest to tell you to use them in low dilution... but you'll find most reputable vendors DO tell you just that. Because we want people to use the oils safely and effectively. also, fwiw, there is no official definition of 'therapeutic grade'... it means whatever the person using it says it means. Guest guest
Dear Colleen, You could make an internet search and in some cases, you could make your own oils! That would be authentic and economical too. Sandalwood oil, Rose oil and lavender oil come to mind as suitable for self manufacture. Guest guest
I have found many other " brands " to be as effective as YL, at a much lesser price. A couple of alternative companies to try are Mountain Rose Herbs & Starwest Botanicals.
