Guest guest
Call me the meanest mom on the planet but when mine were little, i didn't give them a choice when i wanted them to take herbal tinctures. I had them open their mouths and i squirted it from the dropper right in on the back of their tongue. No choice, no opportunity to refuse. Even for the most vile tasting herbs like astragalus or lomatium (which is what i used for when we got campylobacter when they were little). Yep, i'm mean but they got over the campylobacter within a few hours of the lomatium. Nasty stuff!! diane in nw mt herbal remedies , " marce0313 " <marcelaweiland@h...> wrote: > Is Cayenne the only good thing for sinus congestion? Guest guest
Yeah a dropperfull would be waaay too much of any herb when they were little but i used the 150 rule, so they got 1 or 2 drops or so of the herbs needed (according to their weight and age at the time). And, our oldest one has kids of his own and calls me from MI, where he lives, to ask what to do for a problem. His wife is the one who objects since she believes that medical drs are gods. My younger 2 are now teenagers and come to ask me what to take when they feel sick for some reason. Or for a minor injury. (ER's get the major injuries if we had any.) It's just the way they were raised, i guess. They're used to it. Since we are homeschoolers they rarely pick up on the bugs going around but occaisionally they will get exposed to something or other. diane in nw mt herbal remedies , " tvksi " <leo@1...> wrote: > > Good Lord all mighty, woman, that made my scalp crawl thinking about > squirting cayene tincture into a child's mouth!!!...makes my scalp > crawl thinking about some one squirting it into MY mouth! Guest guest
Is this ok for pregnant women? I am SO congested and don't know what to do anymore. Guest guest
Here is some information about aromaoils during pregnancy from http://www.dropwise.com/aromazone/aromatherapy-safety.html Certain oils should be avoided during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, and some essential oils should be avoided altogether due to their toxicity. Oils that are safe to use during pregnancy include Rose, Neroli, Jasmine Absolute, Lavender, Chamomile, Geranium, Sandalwood, Frankincense, and all citrus oils. To be safe, it's probably best to avoid these oils during the first trimester too.You shouldn't be using tea tree oil if you are pregnant, it's probably safe but it's always wise to be careful. Depending how far your pregnancy is, if you're past the first trimester, lavender is a good choice for breathing difficulties. If you can take contact with a certified aromatherapist and ask for her advise. Good luck./Autumn My blog: http://uk.360./lady_autumnowl----- Original Message ----Esperanza <esper_d Sent: Tuesday, 19 December, 2006 12:45:13 AM Re: Sinus congestion Is this ok for pregnant women? Guest guest
Your congestion may be caused by your pregnancy! It is fairly common for this to happen - I suffered greatly with my last pregnancy. Nasal lavage ( think Netti pots) with warm, distilled saline solution, steam tent, and humidifier gave me relief. Also, scalp massage. I would avoid the use of many essential oils during this time, but haven't seen any contradictions to tea tree use in pregnancy. Guest guest
This does work! Or if your skin is sensitive, put it on the front of an old scarf and tie it around your neck, or even wear an old shirt with it on the front of it. Guest guest
One way is to mix tea tree oil and lavender oil in a carrier oil or petroleum jelly (only time I would use that substance), use up to 25 drops of the oils in 25 ml of carrier oil/jelly and use it around the nostrils. Lavender is good against headaches and mixes well with tea tree oil. /Autumn My blog: http://uk.360./lady_autumnowl----- Original Message ----River Birch <riverbirch1967To: Sent: Wednesday, 20 December, 2006 9:13:51 AMRe: Sinus congestion This does work! Guest guest
Howdy Sue, Stacey .. other good folks .. > >Anyone know about Essential oils good for clearing a stuffed up >> nose, and chest congestion, cough. > >I've had a head and chest cold the last few days and have been >diffusing a blend of Eucalyptus, Fir Needle, Rosemary, Oregano and Lemon. (Snipped) > >HTH, > Stacey still sniffling a little If its a chronic thing it could be a sinus infection. Treatment with antibiotics is not effective unless it killls all of the bacteria in a sinus ... leave a couple and within hours you have a colony again. Treatment with antibiotics will do nothing for a viral infection. Safe and temporary relief is easy .. place 4-5 drops of Eucalyptus, Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globulus) in a coffee cup of hot water .. then cover your head with a towel and sniff the vapor .. though I prefer to just cup my hands around the cup and sniff. Permanent relief can usually be had by doing what Stacey is doing .. sniff or diffuse any of the Carvacrol rich Origanums .. and Rosemary, Cineole. It might take 48-72 hours to kick the Big Bad Bug Butts .. but they will start to sing their death songs within minutes of exposure to the Origanum and Rosemary, If its temporary .. like from a cold .. the above still works .. but usually a bit faster. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com
