Guest guest
Hi, I just recently joined this list. I just read all that info about Young Living oils. Wow..it sure makes me wary about where I buy my oils. I haven't ever bought Young Living oils, but I have heard of them. I bought a book by Valerie Ann Worwood, called 'The Complete Book Of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy'. This is chalk full of remedies for everything imaginable, using therapeutic grade essential oils. Now, I was wondering is there anyone on hear that has something against her and her book. I mean, I hate to be 'duped'. Also, what about 'Neways' essential oils. They claim to be pure oils with alot of testing done. Does anyone have any experience with those oils. The oils I have bought are brand named : 'Aura Cacia' http://www.auracacia.com/auracacia/aclearn/ar_quality.html & 'AromaForce' http://www.mehndiskinart.com/essential_oil_info.htm And I bought a whole bunch off of Ebay called 'AromaEden'. They are claiming to be theraputic grade oils. I heard about a test to try to see if your oils are really pure, undiluted...they say to drop it on a blotting tissue, and when the oil evaporates, it should leave NO oily residue behind at all. If it does leave an oily residue , it proves it had some 'petroleum' (?) addition to it. Not sure how valid this is though. Anyhow, does anyone know what are good brand name theraputic grade oils? I really like all the recipes in Valerie Worwood's book, and want to make up a bunch, but I want my next purchases of oils to be really good quality ones. I'm thinking 'Neways' oils. I'm all out of Eucalyptus and Lemon and need to order some soon. Thanks! If I said anything in this e-mail that is not allowed, or named anything that is not allowed...please forgive me. Oh, I must say I don't grow any of my own herbs, so I can't make my own oils...I just want suggestions of good oils to buy. I also live in Canada. But I can order from the US. - Sue Green

Guest guest
hey Sue, Okay, I know this is a reach, but I know a Sue Green in CA, she's a health clerk ... Neways and Aura Cacia... They sit on the shelves for a very long time and oils have a limited life span. One has no idea of when they were distilled or how long they have been sitting there. Also the quality of Neways has been called into question more than a few times. Valerie Worwood... Very popular author and her books are enjoyed by many who are " professional aromatherapists " as well as the under-educated. The main problem with her books tends to be the repetition of old myths and fairy tales as facts. As for Aroma Eden. Their information on the EO front page is dead wrong and the kind of garbage that has been perpetuated amongst the YL group. The information on Lavender oil is incomplete as well as weird. What the heck is a " Non-Toxic " Lavender oil? I've never heard of that one. I also noticed that they sell Wintergreen. Pure Wintergreen is not a myth, but in the EO industry, almost. Methy Salicate is so cheap to produce that true Wintergreen is almost never found. Both that and Birch are extremely irritating to the skin and shouldn't be used. I also looked at their Citrus oils.... I personally wasn't happy with the fact that they don't mention that Citrus oils can be extremely irritating on the skin. My final " diagnosis " , you would be better off finding someone else. There is a data base of suppliers at the home. Hope that helps.
